I feel as though they’re both really good in their own ways, but keep in mind the 1.22 versions were made with a more modern feel in mind and more detail on the instrumental features :)
Here's the thing. The new soundtracks are more polished and have new sections that add complexity to the song's melody and direction...but doing this also sterilized the soundtrack's original character. A few pieces work really well in context (ex: the way Snow in Summer evolves and becomes more dramatic as you get through the introduction), but the unique and quirky characteristics of the old soundtracks are lost. The new opera vocals, for instance, sound exactly as you'd expect for any other epic boss theme, making them less memorable. The original vocals had this certain eerie, unusual, and pure quality that made them stick out in the minds of so many listeners. I wish there were a way to merge the best parts of both soundtrack versions to get the ultimate enjoyment from each song...that'd be a lot of work though.
Well, Emi Evans go brr. Only she put her soul into the new soundtrack. And the latest bonus track confirms this. It is made in the spirit of the old good NieR.
Nah, i like the new one but the original feels alot more eerie and intense compared to the new one that just sounds like a regular cool final boss theme.
Yeah just one doesn't have the drums Which could be somewhat said with Shadowlord which the newer version has other stuff going on And it becomes really interesting
@Kirill_Ivanov. I still disagree Like Shadowlord has some newer things added in which if you look at it in a certain angle can be seen as a big improvement for what it has Another one is Emil-Karama Both versions haven't changed that badly I would say their both equal And some people may like the newer arrangements of Gods Bound By Rules and I find that fair You just have a massive bias towards the original and follow a different vibe from it You may prefer to jam to it or how it changes parts of the feeling to the songs
idk, putting pictures of jamming ppl on one version, and then pictures of bored ppl on the other, even tho they're both obviously equally jam-worthy, not very convincing tbh. This is just the music criticism version of "I drew myself as the chad and you as the soyjak".
The new ones are so bad I can't even do a replay. I don't fucking get it, it's the same composer. DID HE FORGET about the story of the game? It's like he forgot the soul. This is horrible.
Yes, while it is the same composer, it was put together by a group of people. Okabe (the composer) gave other people in the group (MONACA) more creative opportunities while they were working on the 1.22 versions of the soundtrack, which focused more on the instrumental side of things. At the end of the day they’re both good in their own respects :)

I like the new ones better, but can see what people like about the original ones!
Also, this video is so funny, I laughed a lot xD

Обе версии по своему уникальны и обе являются шедевром, как и весь саундтрек NieR RepliCant/Automata в целом
I think the only one i can agree on is blu bird
1:14, that transition goes hard though I ain't gonna lie
I honestly love both and I feel fans of the old OST just hate on the new version of the OST simply because they want to hate it.
agreeing sm...
New Shadowlord >>>>> Old Shadowlord. It just felt like a new freakin masterpiece for me. The Orchestra, the Voices, the FEELINGS MAAAN 😭😭😭😭
Nah, i like the new one but the original feels alot more eerie and intense compared to the new one that just sounds like a regular cool final boss theme.
@cat_ball1n I think the newer one is supposed to have more emotion so instead it's done more differently this way
I want to note also that
If you look into the notes
Then you can also see some interesting details
The new and old version of emil karma are pretty similar
Yeah just one doesn't have the drums
Which could be somewhat said with Shadowlord which the newer version has other stuff going on

Ah hah, but you see good sir, I made myself the Chad and you the soyjak! Therefore my opinion is correct!
I agree with you on 200% man!
bro is straight hateing
The new soundtrack deserves to be hated.
@Kirill_Ivanov. I disagree
They both their flaws and their advantages
You need to know both of them well
@@Exeternal_Beyonder_Of_Doomsday nope, i know both of them. New one is dog shiet

Respect people's opinions and say it's all shit
I recommend searching more into it and see why people like it
Yeah, new music from Emi Evans are AWESOME in Remake, like Fleeting Words. At least that makes the Version 1.2... soundtrack not so shitty.
It’s not shitty at all
@@tmantonytv1166 remake soundtrack is shiet. If u like it - u like poopie.

@@moriohramen It also depends their intent on the soundtracks
You can't expect everything to go exactly as expected
@@Exeternal_Beyonder_Of_Doomsday yeah, that’s something i really like about the newer tracks too
