Using fingers is a great idea as
•it saves your money
•it saves the pastels i mean when we use tissues it scrapes off a lot of pastels
And idea of applying white all over is a great idea as it helps a lot in enhancing the colour and saves the painting from smudges.......

Drawing lighter colour on top of white gel pen is an awesome technique. Thanks for that.
You don't need painting colours you can make painting by oil pastel because you are genius 👍

I am just amateur artist and recently started making oil pastel paintings.. first time made this painting of urs Turned out quite well.. not as good as urs.. but satisfactory.. as u said i felt issue with mixing of camel colors and also i used chart paper but not as rough as urs so mixing was not v good plus scraping wasnt clear. Yet it turned out beautiful. Thank you. Will try few more painting of urs.. thanks for inspiring me.. i left my drawing post college.. now again when my kid is4yr old i started.. its very relaxing. Looking fwd for many more arts from you.
