Hello As already said by many , a very interesting film of the I J hats. Although as suffering from Dyslexia I would of appreciated inserts of the film I J to match the info of the hat being talked about. But I very much appreciate this film. Now I know where to buy my Indiana Jones hat. Thanks.

I have a quick question. I have an Indiana fedora with a Raiders pinch. (Sadly it is not a Herbert Johnson, that is the dream eventually) It was a little large so I rolled the sweat band inside and it fits perfectly.
The problem is the exterior hat band has loosened and is now baggy. Is there a trick to tightening the band or would you need to have a new one fitted?

Thank you for your feedback. In regards to your hat ribbon query, we'd recommend that the existing ribbon be removed and then securely and neatly reattached at the correct tension. Alternatively, you could replace the ribbon for a new one if desired. You may also wish to consider unfolding your sweatband and to use booster strips behind it instead for a better fit and neater finish, this will also help to preserve the hats components for longer and avoids distortion on the felt that can result from the long term folding of a sweatband. I hope that helps.
Hi Michelle, great video! I’m curious why you switched to offering the gold liner as standard for most of the hats. Is there a particular reason? I like the look, but didn’t the ones delivered to set have a white liner (with the exception of destiny)? Do you have any record of what liner the seaplane hat originally had? Thank you!

Great video and lovely hats! Is it possible to try your Raiders hats on before you purchase them, to compare the fit? I notice your hats are sold in London shops, but do any of them stock the Raiders or Last Crusade styles? Thank you.
At the moment, due to the high demand we are sold out of all pre-made stock. There will only be a single size display sample of each style available to view in each Swaine London store but the shop teams can take your head measurement to check which size you require and to assist you in placing a hat order to be crafted. I might be wrong, but Crystal Skull it's more close to the original Raiders than all the others. Dial of Destiny hat kinda went back to Temple of Doom in terms of crown shape and reduced size. From front viewing all look similar but when seen from more lateral angles big differences are noticeable.

@federicolopezmusic the Raiders and Crusade styles are blocked to the same specifications and brim width yes. There are differences in how each style is shaped by hand though in the crown and brim shaping which gives the different style looks. Hope that helps.

@federicolopezmusic to clarify, all Poet styles are blocked on the same set of blocks, so start off at the same specifications as per the originals. It is the hand-shaping that gives each style it's distinctive look. The Temple is shaped with slightly more taper which to the eye can make it appear to have less stature.
why was the Clipper Poet discontinued?
@milchkafee3914 The grey toned hat made by us and worn by Harrison Ford in the Raiders film is still available for purchase as our Seaplane Poet style. This hat is crafted to the accurate original felt colour and specifications to our original hats as used in the movie. The original hats felt colour was studied and we now call this our 'Storm Rabbit' felt. We used to offer a version of this in the past made from what we now call our 'Steel Rabbit' felt and sold this as the Clipper Poet style, but as this light blue/grey colder tone of felt colour is not screen accurate, we have removed this product from our collection now in favour of our screen accurate Seaplane Poet style. We would only offer our Seaplane Poet made in our Steel Grey felt option instead as a custom order moving forward.

@chay1993 to clarify, No, all Indy Poet styles are blocked on the same set of blocks, graduated across the size range to keep every hat in balance no matter the wearers head size. So all styles start off at the same specifications for open-block crown height. It is the hand-shaping that gives each different style it's distinctive look.
Are the hat sizes the same from the uk and the us cuz I wear a 59 cm in the us
@Lostinfo132 Hi, no they aren't. Hat sizes from different hat types, different brands and from US/UK can vary considerably. Always check with the particular hatmaker in regards to your correct sizing for their hats. We recommend ordering your handcrafted hat from us to your correct head measurement taken directly in centimetres. If between measurements, round up to the nearest available size (or join our waiting list for when more sizes and half sizes become available again.
They are beautiful hats but too costume-like for everyday wear or any other wear. I have a Stetson Temple and they are an actual hat you wear. If you want to shape it more like Indy then you can.
You guys are buying the Indy hat. I just happen to have the hat he wears but doesn’t look like his.
Indy wears a Herbert Johnson in every movie except Crystal Skull in which he wears an Adventurebilt and just to clarify Stetson did NOT make the hats for the movies HJ did. The reason your hat doesn’t look like Indy’s is because it isn’t the right hat. Stetson got the license to make the officially licensed hats for the public until Last Crusade but a Stetson hat was never used in any of the movies. This is a common misconception I would recommend doing some research on the Indy hats it’s quite interesting. There is nothing costume like about these hats they are very real and well made beside men wore hats like this all the time in the 20s and 30s.
@TheAngryNerd64 Is 100% correct! I think Disney and dorfman have officially licensed Indiana Jones hats also.. But as was pointed out, none were used in the movies. Herert Johnson makes he finest fedoras that you can purchase. They make hats for the Royal family. They would wear only the finest... So does Indiana Jones.
Can you guys just make an Indy hat that is brand new as if Indy first picked it up? You guys make nice hats but like distressed jeans these are brand new hats that mimic a thousand miles of adventure.
Next thing fans want are sweat stains from a particular movie.
Please note that we do not force distress our hats at all using fullers earth or any such techniques. We advise any clients wishing to achieve a distressed look themselves to research the pros and cons of distressing techniques and to proceed with caution. Better still the natural distressed look achieved through years of adventuring with your hat will by far provide the most natural looking results. So all our Indy hats are provided in new condition handcrafted to the main standard on screen styles as our originals featured in the movies. Should you prefer something that differs from these styles, the best option is for designing something custom crafted to your preferences. We are currently offering a wait list for custom services as these are on pause due to the high demand and orders queue at present. Our Chronicles Poet style may interest you though, this was the same hat style used as the base model and adapted to first create the Raiders Poet design. It's the hat as worn in the Indiana Jones Chronicles TV series bought from our store in its original shaping with its more relaxed front pinch, wider ribbon, no turn and full non-dimensional 3" brim. This is also the same style used to create the original brown 4th Dr Who Poet hat as worn in the classic TV series. So this base hat design is literally what was used and adapted into the Raiders Poet, you could imagine Indy himself buying this off the shelf and asking it to be adjusted in the same way to his preferences. So this might be an option for you, or perhaps the standard Raiders Poet which is what it became and what was supplied to set for filming Raiders. I hope that helps.
