Basically the class is about comparing works of art to know them better, to glean their essence, know the differences and similarities. We will look at Faith Ringgold, Carolee Schneeman, Michelangelo, Bernini, Velazquez, Francis Bacon, Gerhardt Richter, and Henry Taylor. We will see that the Venus of Willendorf is the first great sculptor made by a woman.
