I feel that Bintan is generally more expensive. Think go Batam more worth it.

Yes it really is. Partially the Bintan govt has huge taxes in the resort area so there's not much of an option than to hike prices. Few huge hotel brands are also in construction there.

not sure if one would get attacked by mozzies in the open air villa area beside the pool... haha =p

It wasn't too bad, actually. Just a couple throughout our stay. We did request mozzie spray from the resort just in case 😅
