Another great video Brian! I figured out a work around for Pilot Fatigue on the Predator ESCs. You need to add a 0.1 second delay in the mix after you reverse the ESC to when you apply full throttle. I'm not using a Spektrum radio any longer but you use the sequencer on the NX10 to do this. I'm not sure if the NX8 and below have a sequencer. Once I added the 0.1 sec. delay, PF worked 100% reliably for me. Good luck and thanks for the videos! - Joe

I have watched the build 3 times when I was programming it and the flapperons really work with the compensation with the elevator, thx so much.

Ours flew fine with a 2600mah 4S hrb 60C battery. Flew well on that. Had a 15 kt headwind down the runway.

The F16 air frame is the most most aerodynamic airframe made by man (Non vectored) . It was designed to have max agility at any speed.
I grew up watching them fly in Des Moines, Iowa, and loved it! One of my favorite planes!
Anyone who loves 64mm jets and want more performance... stick an 80A esc in them and invest in a handful of 2200 5s lipos. You'll bump thrust up by 40%, increase ur acceleration, top speed, climb rate and most importantly (esp on the Rafale) ul have that extra get out of trouble power when doing silly stuff.
NICE! Sounds like a worthy effort!!! So you don't suspect the motor will blow up into a million pieces?!?!? Only issue I can see would be that 5S 2200mAh packs may be a bit hard to come by...well, I stand corrected...THEY DO exist, and lots of retailers online. Wonder if I could do 2S and 3S in Series without blowing up the 2S? I guess I could just plop in a 6S and give her even more blast???
@BrianPhillipsRC Brian ud be absolutely fine with this motor on 5s. I've clocked many flights on my 64mm jets with 18.5v. Done Amps tests, temperature gun tests and all is good. Tbh it's not a balls to the wall kinda size jet. You end up using less throttle as your power band is lower in the range and u save full power for the verticals, get out of trouble power and the odd fast pass. CNHL do plenty 5s sized lipos. Maybe you should speak to them and collaborate with them for some versatility in lipo options when flying none HH planes (not like a lipo brand war but give your audience options). I love spektrum lipos but I went to CNHL for their broader choice and I gave up after 1 yr of asking for SMC LiHV. We all have cheap 80A esc lying around (I even use Avian 70A lite too). Honestly it transforms this class jet and I think 64mm is getting alot of attention with the new 64mm 6s class jets (HK viper, Fly Fans L39 and some Freewing jets). If anything try it off camera. I bet if you worked it well and done a "mod video" with the agreement of FMS, you'd do well promoting the 5 darkside. I fly my 80mm edfs on 7s and 8s but that's another conversation for another day. I get it some jets don't need the extra power.. but some like the Rafale definitely do and it makes it go from a 7/10 to a 10/10 jet. Ps don't go 6s! Pps ur 2s and 3s will work fine 👍🏾🍻

Brian a little up ELV mix with THR on a switch helps with hand throwing. Once up just knock switch/mix off.
Sure could! I think this plane launches easier than I showed, but I was trying to keep from using SAFE, when it would have been the smart, and easier way to do it ;)
Half the price of the next size up 70mm eflite F-16 and battery cost as well and all i have to give up is RETRACTS? Ill take it all day long and when i get familiar with is flight character ill remove the gear and hand launch it. Love this plane so much i purchased 2 of them. The quality is superb in all aspects of the bird
Luckily I saw the part with ordinance, now I have a very little chance she could handle gras take offs :P But taking off it wasn´t so powerfull as you said, with luck it took off xD but without HMC HV packs :P :)) thank you for this video! I´m seriously think to get one for training :D Great lights although I don´t think they are daylight bright. I love flying in the evenenings! Best regards from Bavaria!

Excellent thorough review. Thanks for the alternate options of how ppl will choose to fly this beautiful bird. Think I'll get the Thunderbirds cos eflite didn't release the 80mm in that scheme in 🇬🇧 so I got the FMS 80 grey instead.
I LOVE the gray 80mm ;) So beautiful!!! I also have the Thunderbird 80mm and it was a Product sample, and we never got the bugs worked out of it (been too busy to deal with it too!!!!) so I really loved the Grey one ;)
This 64 is a FAR cry from the 80, but it's still SUPER fun, and LOOKS so dang good!!!!!!!!

20;50 - best landing ever
Has anyone flown these without the 2 ventral fins on the bottom? I wonder if that would affect it too much. Without them would of course help belly landing in shorter grass. Great vid, this one is very realistic.
Thanks! I haven't yet, and probably wont. I like the way they look, but they can be removed, and I suspect it would fly okay still.
To be completely honest, I assumed I was gonna be let down by this plane, but it's really nice without the gear on. WITH the gear on...looks great, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're doing wheels up - wheels down. It's just NOT the same experience.

I did, I flew it at maiden and broke one, now I am flying it without, also without gear and rockets and I really love flying it. Hand lounch is really easy, landing needs some concentration but I am still an inexperienced pilot. I took Brian's advice and programmed flapperons.
I use the ar631 and have programmed the gyro very far so I can do funny things, even in safe.
Also I changed the esc to an avian to have the telemetrie and now it is a brilliant machine to fly.
I wish you the same kick that I get out of it, kind regards.

Would you recommend this or the 70mm F16 from FMS? Which one is faster?
As always a great video F16 , I 'm new RC plane but need a small plane so I bought the T33 50mm no wheels Should have vetro stablelizer i've plug in all wires My servos or working fine a motor fine but how do get stablizer to turn on it inside the plane no light to see i 'm using a flysky i6x 10 channel trasmiter and 6 channel receiver any help please any one. my channel 5 switch just turn on motor half power. thanks for any help in uk
It’s decent but I think I still prefer the 64mm Rafale.
If you prefer the Rafale, that's cool. There's nothing wrong with having favorites. I wouldn't even personally put them in the same comparison, since the Rafale flies so different, it's a definite "BOTH" ;)

The Rafale is a high alpha beast, it makes you look like a pro when you lock It in the proper angle and speed, also has its own safe mode so you can put a $12 receiver in it. I do like this F-16 also and will consider buying it as well. Keep up the good work!
Hey Brian, I have cerebral palsy and I really only have one hand to hold and the other hand to control. Everything else. Is there anything good for somebody who is disabled to get into the hobby of flying planes like you flown today

Hummm...probably not with no retracts, but she's got a lot of power stock given it's using 4S packs! I think the principle take away is to fly with your gear OFF...then she's great!

Its $199 Brian quit your bitchin its got more features than any other 64mm 4s edf jet on the market if it had retracts there adds another 3/4 pound and the price jumps another $100 bucks so if you absolutely need retracts on a F-16 go for the 70mm Eflite F-16 Falcon for $379 instead...nearly double the price....Its nice to have a very affordable 4s F-16 with all the bells n whistles that and the Thunderbird one has....especially in this wonderful Biden economy :)

The FMS version is currently priced at $199 vs the E-flite version at $379... that's a pretty big jump, plus the E-flite 70mm is a 6S platform. They both have their purpose... just depends on what you want.
