I pulled up your video when my 19yos asked what to do with his used strings. Like the ideas. It occurred to me that making string art using guitar strings instead of cotton string/twine would be interesting. I'd create a guitar silhouette for his wall. Now for some more strings... Lol!
And.... You can cut 7cm off the ball - end of your wound E string, and tie a small lanyard through the ball, and keep it handy near the espresso maker to clear the dried milk out of the steamer nozzle. You can't buy 'em in stores folks!
there is something about you that is entirely charming!!! love the picture hanging idea, also the little half guitar made with plyers, it would he cool to also use another string, make the other half and glue gun them together??
I wear them when I go to concerts and have gotten comments from the artists on stage. In fact Jack Blades (Night Ranger and Damn Yankees) pointed at me in the crowd when he saw them when I was at the Shaw/Blades show here in Conway, AR years ago.
JT Guitar if I had a camera to do it I would. I can email you instructions and pictures and a list of what is needed and you are more than welcome to do a video. Give me an email to send the info to you and I will be glad to.
+Patti Heath sure, thankyou. Who knows when the video would be but it would be nice to see what you've done anyway. You can reach me at j.tguitar@hotmail.com JT :)
Create 2 loops on each end on a pice of cut guitar string I’d recommend having the string loop round the loop 3 times then wriest it’s to lock the 3 layer thick loops in place and you can use them to file the nut smooth on the neck of new guitars I have done this once with every size guitar string I’ve used also you can use it to apply guitar nut friction reduction products
So roller bridges that are like Gibson style have these little rollers on them, I find that string ball ends seem to make great replacements for them as they are the right size and readily available
Great video! I alway’s wonder what “we” could do with old string’s. It’s great material and it’s all just thrown away... That’s just a waste isn’t it? So now i am stuk with thousant’s of strings in a box with no great plan yet..;)
I’m still collecting the strings. I’ve been struggling to decide what to do the mural of but very sadly one of my best friends (also a guitarist) recently died aged 33. So I may now do the mural of him. Thank you for watching and I hope you définis some of it useful. :)
The picture frame hanger was also very easy to come up with. Hell I've used guitar strings to fix a brake line on a bike, and it WORKED. Your obviously more intelligent and artistically inclined than this. And I won't accept bullshit from a gold mine.
Visual artist trapped in a musician's body - star-crossed and sad, yet somehow sublime ~
Thanks, I think. :P I will eventually make good use of all those strings. Stay tuned. ;)
I’d say guitar playing is possibly not his strong suit.
Drummers can also cut small pieces to replace the strings or strips that hold snare drum snares in place. Never have to replace those things again!
That's a great tip! I had no idea!
I make rings and keychains with my strings you can also incorporate cool patern designs and beeds etc
That’s great! :)

That's great and a nice idea. Good luck with your projects! I may have some more crafty videos coming up next year.. ;)
I love the sculpture! Hilarious. Great post, man.
Lol, thank you. :P It is pretty terrible, but I wish I was still using it! Lost two of my £3 picks in the last couple of weeks! 🤣

More projects like this please. Really cool.
Sure thing. Glad you like it! :)
What, no fishing leads?
Good shout! ;)
I re-use guitar strings on my mandolin.
Nice! :D
I made some earrings and necklaces out of guitar picks. The ones that were plain I would draw designs on them with fine point sharpies.
+Patti Heath that's really nice! :D

+Patti Heath that is so cool! You should do a video on how you made them. Or maybe I'll do a follow-up video and credit you in it. ;)

Lol, same here! Although, I have a plan.. I'm going to make a mural of Jimi Hendrix out of guitar strings. I just haven't worked out how to do it yet.
Did you ever finish the big guitar string project?
Still collecting strings. Got a whole dustbin full now so should be ready to go soon!
Awesome!
Yo - nice one for the shoutout brother! Great vid mate ;-)
+Robby Miller your wife buddy, and cheers! ;)

+Iain Graham glad you like it. :)
I've just stumbled upon this video that you posted 5 years ago. Did you start or finish the wall project?

+Renewed Scars hiya, actually you can buy those coasters. They are made by Ernie Ball. :)
Thankyou, I may do another crafty video. ;)
How do you like that fast fret stuff?
Never use it. :s
Woah the talent tho
I know, right? Especially the blue tac guitar sculpture.. 👌🏻🤣🤣🤣
Good video
Thanks. ^^
How about using them to make small animal snares? A survival tactic if needed?
Pretty grim, but it would work. 😅
Dude, you are beautiful. Your eyes are so nice *_*
+Ninqi Stratton thank you, you are too kind! ^^
4:35 for me that's about one hundred lifetimes of sets of strings
James _h lol, I hadn't considered that. Maybe that's a slightly esoteric one. :D
Hello John it’s isabelle
Hi Isabelle! I thought you might like this video! :D
why so many capos oh my god
Captain capo 😂
Framed old trash string packs? Ok..To each their own
Harry Potter?
Here, have a sub c:
+LieutenantFalcon oohh, thank you! ^^
Make chainmail, dont be a coward
🤣
Bro. These ideas were just as brainless as the wile e coyote inventions
I disagree, I really like the wound up strings in a frame and the cymbal hangers. My drummer friends have found those really useful too. :P
The wound up picture frame was the worst one!! 😂😂 The only way that's cool is if you have famous skin cells stuck to them. And you sir, are not famous
The picture frame hanger was also very easy to come up with. Hell I've used guitar strings to fix a brake line on a bike, and it WORKED. Your obviously more intelligent and artistically inclined than this. And I won't accept bullshit from a gold mine.
I see.
