I'm always amazed at how limited some of these people are creatively..
Very limited!
Must be all the glossys they read
As someone who lives in a really small 3 bedroom house with four children, a goldendoodle dog, and a husband. It blows my mind when these people look at gorgeous and very spacious houses and complain that it’s too small when they’re a couple with a dog lol. Unrealistic expectations. I would go with the cheaper house and make it work. No stress as far as mortgage goes and get rid of the junk.
Always like that comment about a bedroom: “It’s a little bit dark.” I tend to turn off the lights and sleep in my bedroom, where dark is optimal; otherwise, turn on a light!
And it wasn't even dark! Put a white coverlet on the bed if you're so fussy about "light"! Did they want floor to celing windows so that the street can see them?
😂😂
22:07 "the wallpaper's horrible" When buying a house, you should be thinking about mortgages, the area, schools, travel, parking, future sale or rental potential, planning permission, onward chains, structural integrity... not the bloody wallpaper.
That too many things to worry about lol
Ikr?? Wallpaper is such an infinitesimal detail that can be changed in a second
The house with the loft at 75K below their budget was gorgeous. People are quite spoiled. Pity.
I fell in love with the house that couple walked away from. I'm not much of a project person, but that house is one I would do a project for. The house, the garden, the character--I loved it all.
Love these two and are so patient with some of the people they meet Champagne taste on a beer salary .
“I fell in love with that house,” Anna says. “But were you passionate about it,” Graham asked. Pause. “Yeah, same thing.” Wow.
Old Graham is a real dud.
Anna's the one who thought a few rooftops in the country landscape was "too urban"??? They're both pills in their own irritating ways.
how's his wife emotional about a house and he's not looking or acting like he cares about her tears hmmm
If I were Anna I would never feel the same about Graham again.
I would run away like a rabbit and not look back!
Me too. I thought she was the pill but it turned out to be him. What a colossal lout. No wonder she looks so unhappy.
What did he do?
😢
@@wonderland1911 if you dont get that……
Their inexperience in life shows with both couples. If having to paint or strip wallpaper is too much for you, then you better buck up for when something truly difficult has to be faced. Tragedy has a way of snapping your priorities into place.
Well they both work full time which doesn't leave much time or energy for major remodels.... which that house actually needed.
Um…the house that Graham and Anna were interested in needed more than just paint and some wallpaper stripping, hon lol. It’s a full gut job!
@@lagringa7518 There's always weekends...
@@thehungrygoldfish Over not a lot of time, they could do it on the weekends.
There's something called vacation and leave without pay that would get a mid-sized job done quickly, before they even move in. But it's not for everyone.
Argh ... people seem unable to look beyond the possessions of the current owners ... strip the wallpaper, repaint ... it will be your stuff in the house, not theirs! And if the place is perfect except the sitting room too small for your sofa you will be living there longer than that sofa will last! Look at the bones of the house!
Absolutely!! This is the worst episode
The deteached house in Kirkheaton is amazing! I wonder how it looks like now and how much it costs?😊
OMG! What an uncompromising couple Ann and Graham are. They seem to want a palace for the price of a shed and even complained about the beautiful view surrounding the 4th house.Kirsty and Phil definitely have patience- I’d be biting my tongue!
To be fair, they did like the third place and it had a lot of compromises. It’s clear that the most important thing to them is space and by liking the third house, it tells us they’re willing to compromise everything else in order to get it. I’ve seen way pickier couples.
@@thehungrygoldfish Well, they obviously weren’t willing to compromise everything for the size as despite her loving it, he said it was too big so they didn’t even put in an offer.
@@aliceinwonderland.2080 But they at least liked it enough to have strongly considered it. They’ve been couples who didn’t like anything they were shown.
Hope Ann looks at this footage carefully, as when Graham was saying it wasn't perfect and she started crying, there is a smirk on his face - I would run screaming from Graham - Ann do it now or? Well, good luck. He seemed like the type who loves to cause emotional pain - not a good sign
@@toodlesoops7761 I didn't notice that, but after reading what you have just said I have real alarm bells going. Run Ann, run!
The last house with views was beautiful
Too urban? You can see the top of houses? Jeez.
Well, she has a point. What they need is a dump to fix and flip, repeat 2- 3 times, THEN buy the house of their dreams. TFS
The too urban view killed me. You cannot make this up.
I note that while most of the homes that are shown are occupied... proper staging (taking out owner's personal effects) and a good clean is a must for any prospective buyer's look see. A good idea: pressure wash the outside walls, all cement walks, patios and sidewalks and fences. Add a good garden trimming and a clean, bright, palette, gives a clearer picture for buyers to see themselves living in the property.
It sounds like that first couple can't afford the place they are renting so they want a bigger place with a bigger garden in the same place for less money. That's gonna work
😁😆😅🤣
I prefer to see both couples happy but that is impossible . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️💚🥰🤗
I bet that couple regrets not getting that big project house. It was totally worth just getting it and slowly chipping away and making the updates.
Couples who can't commit to the project of a lifetime of marriage can't commit to a project of working on a house together. They are still testing each other to be "sure" or married and playing at life (toys, hobbies, buying stuff, self-indulgence). They are incapable of adult commitment to life or each other. Why would you expect them to commit to a project that is so symbolic of working hard building a marriage and family?
I don't know about that. What hidden problems are there? It's an old house and you would need really deep pockets to bring it up to its full glory.
@@FigaroHey It was not ideal marriage material for Graham to have neglected to share his feeling about the project house with his fiancée Anna before he crushed the poor girl's heart in front of the camera, making her cry and want to hide in a cave. Not good husband material.
@@erikaquatsch2190 they are already married. It was the other couple who aren't married yet.
@@nancyn347 True... and it's always more than whatever is quoted, plus they both work full time and aren't 'project' oriented... either one, so that means paying others.
Kirstie's couple had a pretty modest budget, and I'm impressed with what's on offer for them. I don't think they can afford to be too picky, not with what they have to spend. Hope they found what they wanted.
i think they are not going to find anything soon.
My bedroom is for sleeping and nothing else. I spend my indoors time in my kitchen diner. Dont need huge rooms to heat and cool and clean. Maybe because i live in Florida and spend most time outdoors in my garden.
Yeah spending most of your time outdoors isn’t an option if you live in the UK, lol.
We only spend time outdoors April to September as long as the weather is good.
Tom: Compromise = commitment?
Yes, my little finger tells me that also.
Wow. I’d live in the cottage in Thurlston. I find it so interesting to see houses in countries other than mine. In England, a lot of them seem to have those multi-colored squares of tile.
Not all people will be Passionate about a home my mother hated her home when she looked around it and didn’t want to buy it but my father sore of potential and Persuaded her that it was the best move, by the time they moved in and the work was done she now thinks is the best home in the city.
Hello, thank you again for these episods; every sunday i enjoy watching Kirstie and Phil trying to find what is best for their clients. Happy for Phil's couple , the first house was lovely.
These buyers are too fussy for their budgets. Takes a lot to wake some people up! They seem entitled and lacking good judgement. Declutter guys!
Keep in mind the location though. Yorkshire is a fairly affordable county, especially back when this episode was filmed.
Seems a little judgmental. Think of it as fiscal responsibility. Personal preference. To each his own :)
Great show ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♥️🩵🥰🤗

As long as a place is functional, you can live in it, while doing it up. I'm sure most people watching this realise that, when you find a good house that you have the money for, BUY IT and do-it-up at your leisure. If there are major structural issues, then that's different. (Putting a kitchen into another room is NOT a major structural issue; it's just a case of laying pipes for plumbing and wires for electricity + the gas-safe man can lays pipes for the gas-stove, if that's what they're having. Then, a carptenter or a kitchen-fitter puts in the units and it's done.)
Thank you for uploading these
BOTH Men are DELUSIONAL !!! I feel so bad for these two women. SMH
I can't get over the unrealistic expectations of these young couples. They expect to get everything on their wish list in the first house they ever buy. So unrealistic and spoilt.
The problem is they rent places that are big and easy. Often if they have been living with parents too.
Lovely to watch these episodes.
Pity for the big house that was negative decided on, although I understand.
What a pain in the buttocks!
This couple could look at every house in England and still not buy.😢
Remodels that involve changing major plumbing, here in the U.S., are far far more costly then those that do not. The need to run vent stacks and new pipes requires suitable paths vertically and can have major impacts on the rooms above.
No duh lol.
Ehhh, in europe we know what we are doing!
So no problems here, even with oud stone build houses!
Entitled people who cannot afford to be entitled insisting that their tiny budgets give them a key ready mansion.
The dude with Kirstie has serious issues with commitment. Bet they wish they'd nabbed that gorgeous place now
I don't know about that because it needed so much work and they both seem really nervous about renovating.
Aren't they already married?
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
i think anna should find someone else,
I think Ann needs a new partner. I think she had finally found her dream home. He wrecked it.
Totally agree. I think that Graham is a terrible partner- Anna can do MUCH better than having him as a partner. He will hold her back from so much...
The last scenes with those two really put him in a terrible light. Couldn't imagine spending my life with such a person.
“It’s very small from the outside”
“Oh, it’s very high”
Kirsty with that smooth move “don’t judge a house by it’s front” 👏🏾😂
Graham doesn’t seem to know what he wants!
I don't think he wants a house at all. He does, childishly, want t be the boss man with the last word, though.
Seriously they want to be careful with budget and find a super house but picky, picky, picky. I can’t cope with these people.
Both of these couples raised my blood pressure - lol. spoiled, ungrateful and unrealistic.
Both the first houses the couples were shown were perfect! People are ridiculous. That guy was using not finding a house as an excuse to put off marriage, he was actually annoyed at Kirsty & Phil for proving him wrong. Morons
I had the same feeling.. and the same mechanism for the second couple.. not sure what they were trying to avoid.. kids? A bit of sacrifice? Fear of work? Regardless.. they have exhausted me with their insane nit-picking
I'm pretty sure that anyone would be fussy to an extent when you're making the biggest financial investment of your life. However saying that the bedroom is a bit dark is ridiculous. Are they going to be doing draughtsman level drawings in there or complicated embroidery work? When I win the lottery (🤪) I'll try and get on this programme and brace myself for the inevitable onslaught of judgemental comments by people who don't even know me; but I won't care cos I'll have a house to call my own! 🥰
Anna and Graham dont know what the really need. Personally, there were two things about the first house i really dislike. The front door opening into the kitchen is a no go. I also need a dining room.
Why don't any of them talk about the roof, roof insulation, double glazing, solar panels, sustainable heating systems, harvesting rainwater etc, before decoration and furnishings. That huge house requiring total renovation is a recipe for divorce
So true...
Yes, but I guess some of these episodes are quite a few years old, and may be before ecological measures were as popular as they are now(2024)
Because most people don’t care about any of that crap lol
@@thehungrygoldfish you mean "some people" don't care about these things, but these days MANY DO! Here in the USA we are getting on that wagon, getting all the new info about what we can do, how, and how much... It's exciting :).
My goodness the sellers are not helping by not clearing out some things. It looks filled up.
Why do people fixate on the decor? It's so easy to change!
Didnt think there was anything that tasty in Stocky ... 😏
Well tho these kids were young and obviously clueless, I enjoyed seeing what's available when you have nowhere near a budget of 500k to a million grand that you usually see on Escape to the country or Kristie and Phils shows. Not everyone has bags of cash that have the option of finding their 'perfect' place.
Graham how??
South Africa
Dan talks a lot about falling masonry but still wears a soft cap. He certainly likes to live on the wild side. A health and safety nightmare!
1st couple, oh well. 1st house was a deal.
Why don't they just throw up some 2x 4's and build some closets?
Look at your budget both couples ! .......you cannot afford Kensington Palace so stop looking for it on your budget !
People scared of a mortgage need to realise. It’s better to pay for yours than your landlord.
people who can not see past a colour of a room ,or someones furniture , or a loft without a view!!! , since when did a loft ever have a view ,ohh the bedroom is a bit dark ,whattt .bedrooms will be dark so you can sleep unless you sleep with a light on , i hope they look back at themselves on this program and see how dim they are
Anna if you ever read this comment, Graham just doesn't want you to be happy. It's obvious.
Kirstie's couple are SO immature 🙄
No need to make personal insults. They seemed to genuinely have a hard time, and I feel bad for their disappointment. To me, they just didn't seem quite ready.
Not immature. Probably don’t talk enough. When they went with Kirsty to the pub to buy the property, he obviously changed his mind on the spot. Hence her being upset. I bet they aren’t together anymore.
Playback at Chipmunk speed
Judging by the house prices this video must be very old.....10years at least.

@@nancyn347 Thank you ! I wish we could go back to those prices !!
@@JVSwailesBoudicca you're welcome. If you watch the credits at the end, that's when the year shows up.
@@JVSwailesBoudiccaBut something catastrophic would’ve had to happen for the prices to drop significantly. You can’t have a bustling economy with good paying jobs with low depreciating housing prices lol.
Anna and Graeme simply are not wanting to buy. The excuses were weak. Newly married but he seemed to look like he regretted being married.
She looked the same.
Space space, so narrow minded!
O and sammy needs that for het two babies
And the second man want it all big,, well there is his wife! 🤪
The bedroom is a bit dark…..yes you want to sleep in the dark!
And we can not have a bigger dog!,,,,,,,,,,, ahhhhhhhh
And the loft has now views………ahhhhhhh again!
And the house with the nice view, the view is “ to suburbian”. We can see tops of houses….🥺😱😰🤡
Do you feel save at night? Huh!? Some strange people walk around
The two husbands should marry each other, to be quite honest. I was annoyed seeing their attitude… 🙄
Fussy fussy couples..you don’t have the budget for what you want..sheesh
Keep in mind that this is Yorkshire. It's a fairly affordable county so the prices are going to be lower than other areas. Also, I don't think Samy and Tom were overly picky, especially because they instantly loved the first house. Anna and Graeme, eh, they were fussy but it was clear that the number one thing they cared about was space, and that third house had a lot of compromises yet they both instantly fell in love with it because it had the space they wanted.
Isn't that the same for most house hunters? Looking for a bargain dream house?
The view is too urban? Is she ridiculous? ROFL
I'd be more concerned about the adjacent farm and whether it was arable or cattle 😒
Kirstie is not always as clever as she thinks she is. She mentioned ‘fiscal’ suicide in relation to a house, but fiscal means government revenues, usually taxation. She used it completely wrongly. I guess she thinks it’s a fancy word for ‘financial’.
It isn’t
I can't say I warmed to either couple. Graham is a jerk.
I think the Sun is to be a lot pkida about who they can’t ask client because these couples I absolutely insufferable
Ann & Graham are looking slightly Autistic in their Reactions???
What do you mean by 'Autistic'?

Worst episode so far. Uncompromising couples who probably only wanted to be on TV. I cannot watch after30 minutes, I am underwhelmed by their, pettiness &
pickiness. They want a £500K home for £150K 🙄
Tom and Sammy loved and bought the first house though lol

"The decor", you don't bl**dy buy the decor, change it, it's your house! So young and so incapable of dreaming of having a vision, working hard.

I can't understand how people would want a mansion for peanuts. From what planet are they?
