Looks delicious. I been cooking for decades and pea soup is one dish that reminds me of my mom. I was able to duplicate hers to the tee. Towards the end I always add shredded parmigiana cheese. How much is up to the taster/cook. It’s delicious. I also let it simmer for 2.5 hours with mixing in between. That cook time you won’t need the masher.

I like it but I think I would add 1/2 garlic. But it looks yummy! Thank you.
The full garlic won’t disappoint! The soup won’t taste like garlic. Enjoy either way!
I add 1 can of evaporated milk after I blend and make it cream of split pea soup!
