San Francisco Chinatown was where my father took me as a little boy back in the 70s. It’s where I first had har gow , siu mai , cha siu bao and of course daan taat. Now we go to Oakland Chinatown. Good food and great memories

thanks for doing this vid! I'm sharing to Bay Area friends. As a solo traveler I really like the take out spots on Stockton and even Clement. It's a tradition to order roast duck and dim sum (many not found in Hawaii) and then go to Golden Gate Park and eat on the stage in the Music Concourse with birds eyeing out my food. :).. Btw, I once asked a counter top guy for chopsticks and he said they don't don't have any because too many people don't know how to use them so they just give plastic forks! Next month I plan to take the new ferry service to Richmond to see the Rosie the Riveted NPS museum. Is that dim sum restaurant walking distance? the waterfront looks more like industry over commercial shopping like Fisherman's Wharf. Oh, there is a dim sum restaurant my friend loves. its farther Clement and maybe it was on Geary. She took me one Sunday after after seeing Lands End. I cant think of the name right now.

I found a couple of pharmacies that likely have what you are looking for; Bou Coeng Hong Trading Inc at 837-839 Washington Street and Kang Hua Trading Co, 1040A Stockton Street. I haven't purchased here but they had a good stock of manufactured Chinese medicines (and not just the herbs). Even in the old days before the pandemic the big dim sum restaurants have their employees push around the dim sum carts full of different types of dim sum. But, char siu bao is seldom in those dim sum carts!! Also soup dumplings are not considered dim sum!! Peking duck is not a dim sum item either!! Not in the East Coast!!

I was w/her at the first bakery but closing her video out w/the most expensive Chinese restaurant was extremely disappointing. I love baked char siu bao & have had to pay $3-4 to four dollars for 1 knowing if I had time to drive to Chinatown, I could've purchased 4 bao. There is no flavor difference btwn the 60 cents one and the $4 one. Yank Sing is sometimes the worst b/c they tend to overbake them.
