Thanks to you know my gameboy advance is an adorable pink color, great and simple video ☺️☺️
Glad it helped! And good colour choice
Love your videos. You're killing it! Keep uploading.
was not expecting a comment from yourself! Thanks i will 😀
Just finished my GBA and it came out great! Thank you for making this video very helpful! :D
I searched 5 vids til I stumbled upon yours, you actually show how to take off the lcd screen from the motherboard, all the other vids either skip or barely show any work in their Vids, thank you
no problem, glad i could help!
Very nice tutorial ! And I believe I'm the 1000th like 🍻 I just finished replacing my old shell (I had multiple issues: broken battery cover, Start button I had to push really hard, and some dirt a bit everywhere) while keeping an eye on this vid, and my old GBA is now almost good as new. The only step that felt a bit tricky was detaching the screen from the old shell (and moving the adhesive from the old to the new shell), otherwise everything went smoothly. Thank you and keep up the good work !
excellent tutorial I followed it step by step and now my old game boy advance looks like new!
Pretty cool, thanks =)
I'm waiting for my gba to be delivered and will use this vid to help me replace the shell and screen.
Thanks 👍 great job clean Very clear ♥️ in my opinion it's the best tutorial
Thanks used this video to restore an old beat up gba my friend gave me awhile back. Looking good!
Thank you, followed this step by step . All went smoothly 👍
thanks for the tutorial! really needed this! verry good explanation .
this is about to help me replace my shell and screen. thank you so much!
You're a life saver! Thanks man
Nice job! I love these repairs (:
thanks!
This was so helpful I did mine rn
thanks! was able to order an ips v2 kit from ebay and then use this to fully assemble mine.
Thanks, I bought a new shell to mod my GBA in. I didn't want to ruin the original shell by trimming it. I had quite some anxiety about opening this bad boy up, but now I'm comfortable with it.
Great vid, I’m replacing mine now and using your guidance to really speed the replacement process up. I did notice however when your adding the A and B buttons you say them reverse 🔄 because I grabbed the buttons as you mentioned and they didn’t line up so I fast forwarded into your video as well as looking up a google image and when you complete the replacement the buttons are correct. I tried looking through the comments to see if anyone mentioned this but no one did. Also, when you go back to inserting the Phillips screws, you insert the screw (power button side in a different location than from removal at the beginning. Any particular reason for this?
Omg i love this tutorial. I replaced my shell successfully. Thank u so much, good job!
You got a new subscriber. I’m only 13 and this easily made sense. It’s easier than what I learn in school lol 😂
Damn this channel underrated
thanks!
Really nicely put together video, very clean!
I just have a couple of questions. First, where did you get this particular shell? Also, how's the quality? I'm looking at purchasing a replacement shell but I'm a bit worried about the quality of the plastic, both in the feel and how the two halves fit together, I've seen some pictures where it's a bit uneven in some places
Thanks!
I got this from a seller on Ali Express
Quality seems fine, although i only ordered one so cant really say for sure. I didnt notice with this one anything not fitting correctly or being uneven!
Found my right side super tight and hard to put together, and A & B aren’t working so gonna be taking it back apart
I've had a couple poor orders for replacement GBA shells.
One was a "pre-cut" meant for older backlight mods, which meant there was *too much* space inside the shell.
The other was the right size and everything, but the front part where screws would connect the motherboard and back weren't... pre-drilled for some reason?
Mine came with orange cables for the screen, any videos on changing those? I think they're for a backlight mod
Do you possibly know where I could get some replacement adhesive for the screen? The adhesive that comes with stock GBAs are probably very old and have lost most of their stickiness due to their age.
Hello is there any problem when using an ips ready shell without really changing the screen to ips?
What's the small screw close to the cartridge reader (placed to the right of it)?
I’m a total newbie at this, and have someone with a lot of electronics experience willing to look over my shoulder while I try this. That said, where do you suggest finding replacement shells?
Can the same method be applied to re shelling an ips upgraded screen?
I did this step for step now my gba wont stay on i turn it on cuts itself back off i rechecked everything and i did it all correctly it worked fine before this any idea whats wrong?
After putting in my old lcd screen the game is very bright ish like when I play Pokemon the white is very blurring if that's ones way to explain it I'm sure I put the ribbon on correctly
So my GBA has 6 tri screws and 1 cross screw. Then on the inside 3 cross screws.
To me it seems likely you lost a screw at some point.
Just finished mine, super easy thanks🙏🏽
no problem, Tweet me a pic of it @JuicyJakeaJoke would love to see it!
Where do I buy these kits
I’m sure I installed everything correctly. My gameboy advance turns on, but only shows the gameboy introduction and doesn’t play my games
When you were reassembling it you put the screw in the inner part of the right side, is that still ok? Because wh. You took it out it was on the outer part 🥴
which screw sorry? time stamp it for me :)
@@JuicyJakeRepairs 1:15 when you’re taking it apart and when you reassemble it it’s in the inner part 3:52
@@JuicyJakeRepairs if it’s still good than ok, just wondering if it’ll all still work the same
Is there a high chance of the ribbon ripping?
not unless you pull it in a tearing motion
@@JuicyJakeRepairs thank you so much! I’m thinking of purchasing a second hand game boy advance and replacing the shell
these l and r buttons killed me
I don't know what's going on with my new shell but it doesn't want to close right I can't get the screws to go in must be just a crappy quality shell.
double check you got the side bits and the L R shoulder buttons in the right sides, if theyre wrong that can prevent the shell from closing properly
@@JuicyJakeRepairs thank I will definitely double check everything thank you
Can can't get my back on my new case
It seemed like a easy procedure i just ruined a 180 dlls moded gameboy advance
He flipped the a and b butons
putting the adhesive on took me 20 minutes and by the time i had it on it was no longer sticky lmfao
bruh
please make sure your camera is in focus. as its not in this video
Huhh
hmmm?
