    Funny how I ignored these in the arcades when I was young. Only now do I realize how beautiful they were. Hindsight definitely 20/20. Thanks for keeping them alive and posting for us.

      Yeah, and time is running out on most of these old ones, they're all going off to that great pinball bar in the sky :) If you don't believe me, when was the last time you saw a Woodrail Pinball machine from the 50's or earlier? They made even more of those than the ones in the 70's, 80's, and 90's... but they're so scarce now you never see one.

    What a nice look it has 👍👏 good job. The old pinball machines have a certain look to em 🤩 you just gotta love em. Today's kids don't know how a pinball hall sounded like back in the day, all the sounds from different bumper, the beep beeps and stuff, I miss those days a lot, thank you my friend 👍

    Great job touching up the paint! For a 40-year-old backglass though, it looks almost brand-new. The driver in the speeder with the flames looks like Darth Maul. 😉
    Wouldn't you know my wife looks over just as you're describing the path of the road on the backglass for what she calls 'A gratuitous booty shot'. LOL I don't quite remember this pin either. It's possible I played it back in the day, it has been a looooong time.

    Sound effects sound like Williams 'Defender' which was made a year later I'm assuming it's Steve Ritchie

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 3 lety +1

      It wasn't Steve this one was designed by Tony Kraemer who did a handful of games for Williams in the early 80's, the soundboards though on all these early Williams Arcade games and Pinball machines were the same and even used the same roms sometimes....

      @@LyonsArcade Thank you for that information Joe Everyone raves on about the Defender video game sound effects compared to other video games of the time Defender was Williams first video game but I'm guessing that because pinball games were so reliant on sound effects Williams were way ahead of the field in terms of sound when it came to making a video game Cheers

    Thanks for the great videos! I have one of the prototype Tri Zones with the different playfield. I feel better about digging into it after watching you work. I'm a mechanical guy but the electronics don't seem as intimidating now. What did you use to touch up the back glass? Mine needs work, too and I'm not sure what paint is translucent enough. Was it tough to match the colors? I WON'T be putting lipstick on the guys, though. Thanks!!!

      I collect machines for their artwork, Tri-Zone is a great looking backglass, very hard to get a good one though they flake much much worse than Bally or Gottlieb.
      when I found a Tri-Zone with a near perfect glass, i snapped it up.
      There are better backglass in my opinion, but not many.
      Some of the best would be, Future Spa, Paragon, Xenon, Vector, Space Invaders, Harlem Globe Trotters, Lost World, Genie, Gorgar, Farfalla, Space Riders, Centaur, and as Joe pointed out Strikes and Spares.

    Love Williams games from this era, thanks, good video as always. Never heard of this one, and I know why. The flow looks ok, but...playfield art is lame (in my opinion), theme is questionable (what does Tri-zone even mean?), backglass ok for the time, the plastics colors don't synch with playfield colors. Thanks Ron, appreciate your work!

    My take on that back glass art is this.....Tri Zone means 3 zone. Tri (meaning 3) The other two couples in the art are sizing up the solo gal to see if they want to make it a threesome. Hence "Tri" (meaning 3) zone. It is pretty obvious is it not?
