- In this video we look at the Mens Merrell Intercept Hiking Shoe 2019 from GoOutdoors, is it worth the money and what are it;s good and bad features and what ultimately lets it down for everyday use and when you go out on the trail. Funny old life innit, I've been looking at these specifically for cycling. Then I flick through your channel and find that you've reviewed actual cycling shoes for cycling 😊. Keep up the good work.

get some thompson's water sealer then dip them in it and then set out to dry for a day or two. they become pretty hydrophobic. I do this with all my outdoor shoes when I get them yes it can come into the side vents if you submerge but otherwise with will repel most of the water from coming through the materials
Just a bit weird that i see this, as i just bought some Merrell boots as my Ambulance service boots are uncomfortable. I bought the MOAB 2 MID RESPONSE WP . Gortex lined, but i don't get rained on in hospitals and nursing homes. Lol

I bought the Gore Tex pair that you picked up in a sale at Go Outdoors a few months ago. Compared to an old pair of Merrell Moab Vents I have, they feel very "plasticy" and not half as comfy, but they are waterproof, horses for courses I guess.
Plastic.. I'd rather have dry feet.. Such a shame as look great and feel solid. Ty for commenting and the sub appreciated
I've been wearing these for about 6 months for work (I'm a delivery courier). Went half a size up to save stubbing my toes and they've been super comfortable, but almost immediately I found them desperately slippy on wet pavement. Two weeks ago I found a split on the top (just above my big toe), and yes I have to wring my socks out after rain. I'm so tempted to get another pair as they look great and are so comfortable alas I might try something else. These are really only any good wearing in a fully carpeted house instead of slippers.
They as water proof as a tissue. Big disapointment.
How are these holding up now, after 3 years? I had one Merrell pair, and they started crackign after 6 months. A friend of mine had another modek, lasted 11 months before stitches failed... Wondering if you gave these a longer run and could share anything about their durability?
Not had any issues really, there is a cut in the material on top of foot but I think that's due to catching on a rock. I like them just wish they were waterproof.

I just pulled a pair for $69 I wish they would make a more minimalist in this style, their other minimalist styles look bad

High? think its about 2 inch at the heel.
Merrell don't work for me just dont fit me well, I settled for some Salomon ultra gtx, costed a bit but provided better support and comfit for me plus 'Gortex' worked great around Scotland as well as everyday shoe come rain or shine. Got just shy of 2 years out of my last. Now use em for the garden lol
My Solomon gtx are awesome boots.. Best boots ever..

No not really, but I do put them in a cupboard with a dehumidifier really helps.
they do the goretex version if you want to keep you're feet dry

Ive got a pair of Salomon GTX excellent boot, but whether boot or shoe I would always advocate Gortex lined, the other Merrells you looked at were. Outdoor anything that lets in water is a no no for me
Agree the Merrels were a waste of money.. the solomons are awesonme boots.
Are you chewing an infinite gum? Also, why hate on the manufacturer because the shoe is not waterproof, instead of reading the documentation? Sounds like a user problem to me.

Not impressed with my shoes. Fell apart in less then 30 hours.
30 hours? what did you do with them?
