don’t tell me you’ve never wanted to do that.
Ohh yes I just can’t explain the feeling I get when watching this ever since I was little I just felt like a had a connection to the ball dance scenes in Disney movies. I really do hope with all of my heart that I can experience this at least once.
@@avanavarro7996 you don't have to wear fancy clothes and go to a ballroom for it. find a partner(husband or wife), buy a nice speaker, blast some waltz music in the house and dance with your partner👌🏻

I hope that happens at my 15
The real magic is him not stepping on her dress.
They made different versions of the dress (different lenghts) so she wouldn't trip when dancing or running
That is so true 😂
Exactly 😂
😂
I think they also practiced many times to make sure they don’t trip on each other
The cool thing is that the reactions from the crowd are actually real. No one had seen the rehearsals for it.
Gaby Gibson Really? That’s so cool
Actually no before they filmed that part of the movie they practiced their dance
But the reactions are still real tho
@jaehyun lived in america for 4 years ok 4 years probably cause they have to rush everything and they also practiced before filming
There were rehearsals?

I like how Cinderella is the only one who hasn't wore any necklace or earring but still managed to shine brighter than anyone else
It’s the dress
Yeah:D
She has a dress the size of 2 obese people, of course she shines
She has a Swarovski crystal shoe. Of course she shines💀💀
@@ihascupcakke8616 Yeah💀💀
This dress was so beautiful. I wish they would've put as much effort on Belle's and Aurora's dress..
It's Emma watson who requested the gown to be made such because she believe that Belle would prefer agility lol
Yeah :/ Emma just had too much control over the character, which I find disappointing and also weird because why grant an actor that much power? Especially someone who hasn't have their creative mettle tested in any other film?
@@jakebantilan6285 She's just lazy tbh
moon light there was t ANY effort for Aurora’s dress, made me the angriest of them all tbh
Don't worry we r getting another Sleeping Beauty movie for sure. Maleficent was just a movie to show maledicents story not Aurora's
Two things i'm dying for:
THE DRESS
LILY'S BEAUTY
She doesn't even have a lot of make up. She's stunningly beautiful regularly.
Gisele R. That’s why she’s my celebrity crush
Also she’s a British gang
Idk. The dress is beautiful but she isn’t that beautiful. The black eyebrows don’t fit blonde hair.
GIRL, ME TOO. JUST ADD ELIJAH MIKAELSON AND I AM SET!
Lily really is quite beautiful
How they were able to make her look so gorgeous without any jewelry and minimal makeup on, this is just beautifully done - in my opinion this is the only Disney Live-Action movie that could stand on its own.
100% agree. The others suck
@@nahmastay3300 yeah well not all of them are too bad ( in my opinion) but this is best live remake of a Disney movie ever. They got everything right 1000%
To be fair, she has a full face of makeup on, it's just a subtle look (so does he, to be honest). Also there's the glitter. AND her dress is covered in literally THOUSANDS of swarovski crystals. Plus they lit up the whole place to make her look her best and then in post-production probably spent at least a week solid agonizing over every frame in this scene and color-correcting their asses off.
Plus, it's not like they started out with a troll. She's very danged pretty to begin with.
Hell Yeah!!!
What about 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea?
If you're like me and you've watched this film over 500 times, you'll notice that not only is Lily's acting absolutely incredible, with all the little intakes of breath at the perfect moments and the nervousness we can clearly see, Mr hunka hunka Prince Charming, played by Richard Madden, is doing an absolute phenomenal job with his looks. He's focused all his attention onto Ms Ella by completely phasing out everyone else, and the smiles... gosh darn it, they look so genuine. That's how all men should look at their ladies.
I swear I'd get beat by my English teacher for that run on sentence... oh well its just a comment on a youtube video lol.
Omgomgomg I’ve seen this movie soooo many times too! I feel like I’ve probably seen it more than Kenneth Branagh has!!!
Lol this comment just became better and better as I read it😂
Yes the acting is phenomenal! They make me believe every second.
Yes. I never bored watching this over and over 😂 best disney live action movie for me

Sooo true gurl❤❤🙏
Honestly 😭😭
I was just thinking that. It's almost indecent.
Gotta thank Sir Kenneth Branagh for making this movie 😁
@Kornelia Milewczyk im 100% its Richard 😂😍
i love how they captivate Lilly’s breathing and when she slightly laughs during these dances. it’s so beautiful showing that she was really feeling Cinderella’s nervousness but also she felt overjoyed because she was with HER true love. this movie is simply amazing.
In an interview, she said that breathing was actually natural because the corset was killer. 🤣
Definitely one of the better live actions... I thought Beauty and the Beast was rubbish, no emotion and tried too hard. They stayed loyal to the animation in this one, the acting felt a lot more real than Beauty and the Beast, the emotion was a lot more genuine. And here the dress actually lived up to expectations.
Presley Moore I totally agree with you

This dress is so elegant and gorgeous, nothing beats this dress at all. I also love the concept that every country’s princesses or royals where brought in the ball, very diverse. Also that dance was so intimate.
So adorable
The dress is suppose to be silver so yes, somethings could be better
hands down the MOST beautiful gown in cinematic history. or in the history of the world.
And this is real place i-😭
@@sibalsekya Where is it?
.
Absolutely
@@myhomegwalior6095 its actually not a real place hehe. If you check some behind the scenes footage you will see that an entire crew had to build the palace. Its actually in some studio so its not an actual place.
I love how they didn't put any jewellery on her. No gloves. No heavy make up or red painted lips. She is a country girl after all. Her dress was old school but it was the most beautiful of them all. She wore her hair down to show off this idea of natural country beauty. How could he NOT fall for her??
Agreed!!
i know right. sandy powell said on interviews that cinderella should stand out at the ball because of her beauty and simplicity. lily is so perfect! she is ella. i couldnt imagine other actress as cinderella than Lily. bravo to sir kenneth branagh for casting these two, their chemistry is electrifying! soooo magical and dreamy *sigh* 😌
I know! That was brilliant.
she is so pretty, she wanted to show that she could look good either way. with her hair up or down it still looked good. and with or without make she looked good.
make up. not just make
I like that they didn’t teach her to dance perfectly you can tell she’s slightly inexperienced which is good considering she’s been a maid for her whole life
Yeah I really love the detail it’s makes it very realistic
I like the way he handles his sword during the dance.
Not her whole life. Just after her dad died. And she and her stepsisters look the same so not much time passed, maybe a year or two at most. In this edition anyway.
What makes me happy about this is Chelina (the spanish princess) isn't even bothered by the Prince dancing with Ella.
Yeah I loved that I love she was just in awe 🥺
The BEST live action Disney remake👌
Madison Taylor This is exactly what I wanna say!
Yes. Im quite dissapointed to other princess disney movie live action
nope u must watch aladdin!! 1000/10
Melok Tiara this was a year ago
@@meloktiara7921 I still prefer Cinderella lol
That dress moves like waves in the ocean. Very beautiful
Cinderella's ball gown is made up of several layers of very fine fabrics, each with a different shade of blue and purple which gives the dress that watercolor effect. Sandy Powell wanted the gown to look as if it were "a watercolor in motion".
Guess that worked really then :D
and they made it light enough so it wouldn't be heavy when she's dancing or running
Well It doesn't look very light. I bet she had a hard time doing this scene with that dress.
Narosan Aziz It's a genius design i tell you. i don't really fancy the shoulder part but the way the dress moves i was totally mesmerized by it.
I agree, the dress is out of this world ! if only they hired that same designer for the "beauty and the beast" live action then maybe Belle's dress wouldn't be so gross looking . It would remain simple with nuances of yellows instead of just looking like a dress made out of margarine
I love the moment when the king watching his son and Ella dance in awe...
He knows his son fell in love with a girl who loves him.
I know Cinderella is the most famous fairytale- but this movie made the story so fresh and exciting. The performances. The attention to detail. The phenomenal music and costumes. All of it works harmoniously.
I missed the mice, the cat and all the animal subplots.
That dress is almost obnoxiously gorgeous...this movie still feels like stepping into a fairytale every time I watch it. Best live action Disney film ever of one of the greatest stories of all time...Cinderella.
Yes
I think Disney's Rodgers and Hammerstein Cinderella with Brandy and Whitney Houston was the best live action fairytale.
Obnoxiously gorgeous 😂
for anyone who wanted to know, the music is called La Valse de L’amour by Patrick Doyle.
THANK YOU IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT

Oh the dance of love ❤️❤️❤️how perfect
I don’t even like Disney princess movies but this one! Her dress, her hair, the atmosphere. Incredible.
There’s something to be said by the wistful expression his father has while watching them dance. As if it reminds him of him and his wife or something sentimental. It’s so simple but the scene sets the tone so well that it can speak volumes
This is exactly what I want... it's so romantic and just perfect ...
This is every girl dream dance
+Carat1004 Monbebe ARMY IGOT7 Kpop everywhere :D
That breath she takes at the beginning. Oh my fragile heart.
ikr like when she took that breath i was like girl me too but worse😂😂
Adamaris Rosado no because her dress is tight for her she says that in behind the scenes but she dosent mind
Yeah yeah right 😝😝 blame the dress. She has the King in the North in front of her, grabbing her by the waist. Sure its just the corset 😝
anycullen21 omg game of thrones is life😂
It's been 5 years but this movie is still my favorite and this scene is.. gorgeous
0:09 The expression on the woman in the pink dress with that man behind the prince is so genuine. It warms my heart...
This dress has so much history. The designer wanted to add so many layers to it for when she danced, it would give a waterfall effect and it worked. I think there were atleast 4 blue dresses used in the whole film. And the designer wanted Cinderella’s dress to match the Prince’s dreamy deep blue eyes and it worked. His eyes can he seen clearly in this scene. This dress is a masterpiece
Usually, I'm partial to guys with brown eyes, but when I watched this movie, I was like "Never mind blue eyes it is" Dang his eyes are blue
8 dresses, each one had 10000 crystals and 270 metres of fabric and the waterfall effect fabric is this really rare japanese stuff called yumissima which costs about £150, totally agree it's beautiful and i recommend watching Bella Mae Designs cause she has a bunch of videos of her making this dress as close as possible to the movie, she even does the dance, she also made Ella's maid dress too
This is basically the best moment of my entire life, I feel like I've spent my entire life waiting for this one scene, we can stop making movies now I have all I need
fuck that. MOCKINGJAY PART 2!!!!
Don't need it anymore, I have this
You don't. I do. :))
I'll just read the book and keep watching this for the rest of my life
+Hannah Celeste A classic love story I haven't seen in a long time.
Lily James is quickly becoming one of my favorite actresses. She just has such a charming screen presence. She's simply incandescent. Also, I love how she is able to express so many emotions in such a nuanced & natural way.
I gotta say, I guess this is the ONLY Disney remake nobody was mad and complained about.
more chemistry between Ella and Kit in this scene alone than Belle and Beast in the entire film 😂😂😂
its trash and so are you
@@pb25801705 no u
Eh I actually dislike this prince charming, he seem much older than Ella
The prince (actor) looked like her father but hot. In beauty and the beast the ball is even *grander*. There is so much of lack in sound in this one. I personally like Adam and Belle’s chemistry better
@Fjorgyn I was just going to say that
My favorite scene was when they were dancing when the PRINCE lift CINDERELLA up in the air and he brought her down it took my breath away... the way he looked at her and the way she looked at him it was so intense i could swear they fell in love at that moment with each other for real.......one thing for sure he's got gorgeous eyes

Cate Blanchett was the perfect stepmother, the sisters were perfect, Richard madden was perfect, lily James was perfect, the costumes were PERFECT, the set was perfect, the story was perfect. This one feels like it really had the most effort put in. It's pure magic

even the sound her dress makes whenever it softly bumps onto something is so beautiful
We all know the real main character here, the one that this entire scene was solely made for: That freaking 100 pound mound of magic she calls a skirt. Ps easily my favorite live action Disney movie of all time
Actually, the dress itself is considerably lightweight because of the special material it's made from. It had to be to flow the way it does. If it was actually heavy it would drag and not look airy and light.
Every time I see that dress, I can't help but question how heavy it must have been.
ThatRandomJ When they talked to Lily James in an interview, she stated she could not even breathe in the dress. And it was hard to dance in a dress that was with many layers but she learned.
Actually the costume designer gave insight on the making if this dress and all of the materials in the skirt were very light and airy. The materials were stuff like chiffon, organza, tulle etc.
+Nominee100 she has a small waist to begin with in.
+Diznee Kid but the underskirt to give it an even bigger shape may have been the difficult but
+Diznee Kid It wasn't chiffon or organza, actually. The material on the top layer is crepeline, which is a super-fine silk. The layers underneath are made of a synthetic fabric called yumissima, which is extremely light and extremely expensive. It's so light that if you throw a piece in the air it'll usually just float. The cage under the skirt and the corset were made of steel, however.
they killed it with that dress
hey bored bubble J. how was the dress! :)
bored bubble J. REALLY WHATTTTT
"Believe me! They are all looking at you!" I'm dyinggg😍
The camera work is incredible. It really makes you feel dizzy and giddy just like Cinderella must be feeling. And when the shot opens up head to toe at the climax of the dance ... Magnificent.

I'll be honest, there hasn't been a single live action disney movie that has been able to impress me as much as *this* did. It's just so full of life and straight up captured what the feeling of fantasy is which is the trademark of Disney movies. I always find myself coming back here even after the most recent releases.

+Davina Bella Exactly! I want to have the wedding dress she wears at the end. :)
i really love the Cinderella concept on my church wedding.,! 😊😍
I wonder how many little girls are going to go as Cinderella this year?
+Davina Bella 😂😂nice idea
Putting aside the glorious dancing and acting of the waltz itself, the reactions of the stepmother and stepsisters were hilarious. Notice the stink-eyes that the two women gave the stepmother when she introduced her daughters to their men.
Those two women were literally thinking, "Oh, you did NOT just take our dates away from us!"
I love that the movements of the camera almost make it seem like you’re dancing with them
there's something almost orgasmic about the craftsmanship in that dress. The movement as she spins is show-stopping. Bravo to the wonderful seamstress who made it!
Cathy-Ann Davies there is! That dress is gorgeous, and the way she dances and twirls in it is absolutely mesmerizing! I'm sooo jealous!!
Only Cate Blanchett can be both scary and hilarious as the evil step-mother.
Ikr? She's perfect.
She was a delicious standout as the Stepmother.
Yupp and all the dresses that she wore were awesome!!!
Justine Caillaud you should have seen her as Galadriel in LotR. She's an amazing actress
Simply put: The woman is a genius!
0:15 "Believe me, they're all looking at *you*." makes my heart flutter every single time!!
I love how much she stands out because of her simplicity. These eager women are all in busy ballgowns, donning elaborate hairstyles and adorned in costume jewelry, but Ella just wears a braided crown with her hair loose, a gown that is at once showstopping yet simple, and glass slippers. She looks as if she walked out of a dream ✨
The movie works because even the simple stuff are interesting to look at, like all of Ella's clothing. It's sweet, humble and simple and reflects her character so well. Many Cinderella films have boring visuals and locations, but 2015's Cinderella is a treat for the eyes.
@@0deadx21I found Ever After to be quite beautiful as well.. I freaking love the ball gown she wore in that (even though it’s different from the original story of course) ^_^
honestly, after seeing this movie I have such high expectations for Beauty and the Beast...
I'm SO EXCITED for that
buttermilk I'm sure that the beauty and the beast is going to be so much better 🌹
Me too. I love Beauty and the Beast.
I hear you. So much anticipation. Talk about setting a high bar.
I predict (I could always be wrong so don't quote me) that Disney is going to be releasing a full length trailer of BATB when the animated film Moana has it's premiere on November 23rd.
I am ever so excited for the full trailer of Beauty and the Beast. I just love Disney so much and the remake of Cinderella was just absolutely magical and inspiring and I am sure Beauty and the Beast will be as well:)
Lily James fits perfectly for the role and is very talented, but no one ever talks about Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine. I think she stole the show in this movie. She is the perfect actress for this role; a younger, more sophisticated Lady Tremaine was perfect for this movie. Cate portrays the antagonist perfectly. But I loved every single bit of the movie.
Myriam Mailloux you can also tell that she used the original as a base with that hard solid state that she does that makes her eyes flash and a few expressions here and there. She also models her speech pattern after Eleanor audley which is fantastic. She truly paid homage to the original
Yeah, she's absolutely amazing!!
Exactly! She did the acting so natural and yet very less people appreciate her just because of the negative role..
6 yrs later, i am still mesmerized by how the dress looks when she turns. Like ocean waves gently coming at you....

Her dress *is* made of magic though haha
Cuz her dress is a cloud
Lily is very slim so it’s not really that heavy, and the dress was made of light materials so that Lily James was comfortable moving around. Except the corset that is properly painful. And she’s a young lady.
He looks ripped underneath those clothes, certainly enough to pick her up
This one scene has more heart, passion, and chemistry than all of the other remakes combined. Whoever was in charge of this clearly wasnt in charge of the other movies. 10 out of 10 effort. At least they got ONE right. ONE.
Through all the live action remakes, this is still hands down the best one Disney has done. That dress will never be beat!

I love this scene...the music, Cinderella's clothes...how they dance such masterpieces
This dance is far better than the one in Beauty and the Beast (2017). This is so beautiful, magical, intimate and just romantic.
Dane Mitch Who says it's not because of this movie that Beauty and the Beast didn't benefit from a same effort in the choregraphy. Not blaming Cinderella or anything, on the contrary, her ball scenes are much more essential to the plot than would be Belle's, in whose film the songs are a bit more important.
And the dress pls cinderella is much better.
Dane Mitch There's some actual chemistry here, that helps. The set, the costumes, the actors, and the choreography all just work so perfectly together.
This scene is absolutely beautiful
I don’t agree with you at all I love both scenes but beauty and the beasts dance was way more magical then this one😶
Dane Mitch séduitahuuu
i was scared he would step on her dress. good job prince!
Lol I thought I was the only one
cause they had perfect timing and Prince kept his distance
Her lack of jewelry absolutely enhanced and emphasized her natural beauty.
I'm such a sucker for scenes like these. Just being in a big ballroom with your lover and dancing elegantly with them while the crowd stands in awe or being in a ballroom alone dancing by yourself or lover
Cate Blanchett said in an interview that while watching them dance, she wanted to weep because it's so beautiful. I heartily agree.
This was by far one of the most beautiful movies I have ever watched. I have seen it now possibly more than 20 times and each time it is more wonderful than the time before. The detail, the creativity, the beauty, the characters and every single detail was perfect. This grown up girl can never get enough of this fairy tale....every girls dream to be Cinderella....Love, love love this movie. This surpassed all the other versions. My respect and hat is off to the producers, and all those who were part of this great production. Thank you. What a wonderful movie to have in my collection...my favorite. Just perfect

3:08 i love how ella and kit are just spinning and looking at each other
This movie is so sumptuous and glossy, a perfect match for Cinderella. Thank god they didn't go the dark and gritty route too.
I agree. I was worried that this movie would be like Maleficent and completely change the story and characters -.- but I was SO HAPPY after watching this movie! It was perfect!
+acido44 The vision for the movie was quite refreshing. We need more great films like this.
Gave justice to the animated series. This is simple beathtaking
One thing I like about this choreography is that it starts off like a tease - barely touching anything. Something like in a relationship where in the beginning you're a little cautious but you both know the spark is there. Then a few seconds into the dance, they're finally able to enjoy each other's company with much ease, when you're finally in a trustful stage with your lover.
Okay this is the best disney live-action adaptation. You can't change my mind.
His eyes locked on her the whole time...
The King knew his son was in love... Damn, the look of pride in his eyes !!
I think everyone in the ballroom could tell they were. Even the stepmother and she was NOT happy at all.
Girl with a pearl earring :) gorgeous painting, also loved to book and film inspired by it.
Can't believe it was 7 years ago. Time really flies 😭
This may be the most romantic, beautiful and pure movie scene ever. It moves me to tears every time when I see it. He sees her for who she truly is and it's not just about superficial beauty. He is giving her all her dignity back in front of the people who treated her so badly which is very powerful. It's a combination of superb acting, dance choreography and film producing that makes it come across this way. The music is a perfect mix of melancholy and happiness too.
I'm so glad Disney made an effort to show us what true love is really like and not over romanticised it the wrong way. I highly recommend this movie.

True perfection💕💕
That curtsy is one of the most beautiful things ever... so graceful and elegant...
Can't get over this scene and how adorable the Prince is.
I just watched the movie and realised why I love the Story of Cinderella so much (especially this one). Not because there was a Prince saving her, but because of Cinderella herself. She lost everything and had to put up with so many hardships but she still remains kind to those ugly souls surrounding her and found beauty and happiness in small things even after all this time. (Sorry for any errors. English is not my first language)
I really like about this movie that the prince and Cinderella met each other before the ball.
In some versions, they just have a dance and that's all. So basically, the prince is falling in love with her appearance and she's probably falling in love, because he's the prince.
In this version Cinderella dosen't know he's a prince and Kidd dosen't know much about Ella, not even her name. He just fell in love with her personality.
Well the Rogers and Hammerstein TV remakes starring Lesley Ann Warren and Brandy had Cinderella and the prince meeting before the ball too and she doesn't know the handsome stranger is actually the prince.
Lilo Meiro and your comment made me realize that Cinderella is, was, and will always be my favorite childhood fairytale. ♡

That gown was absolutely gorgeous. Belle's dress was so disappointing compared to this one.
To be fair it wasn't a royal ball that belle was dressing up for. Which is why it was so simple, but elegant and light when dancing.
@@keiracabatay7321 What the hell are you talking about? Then why did we have the iconic and EXTRAVAGANT gold dress in the animation? It may not have been a grand ball but it was incredibly SPECIAL to her and him and there was nothing simple about it. That dress sucked.

@@confusedhomosapien6231 YES EXACLY 😭 Dude I remember when the live action came out my art school when on a fucking RAMPAGE of the dress and how they didn’t make is as iconic as the animation. Emma had way to much control over her character and her dress it’s just disappointing 😭
I love how her dress keeps crashing against him like a wave. 😂
"believe me they're all looking at you" gives me chills everytime
Corinne Dolan yup, that's a perfect line!
"Believe me, they're all looking at you" - no Richard Madden, I believe a lot of people are looking at you
HER DRESS!! It's so beautiful!
I was never that into the animated Cinderella and the same is true for the live action but this scene captivated me so much. I like a lot of the other live action remakes but feel like this one is the only one that properly captures the fairytale feeling of those iconic dance scenes from the disney animated movies. Which granted, it's hard to do with real actors so serious props to these two! For her wearing that beautiful but probably incredibly heavy dress and still dancing so elegantly and him for picking her up and dancing with her so gracefully. This scene is so magical!
Came here after the trailer for the new Cinderella came out, had to cleanse my eyes.
I only watched a review of that movie and also came here to remind myself Cinderella is a good character
