    Thank you for this!!! We are looking for a light weight trailer that we can convert part into a trailer so we have a place to stay at shows for our kids and us to relax.

    I loved your video series. First question, do you work in IT? Labeling the wires is very much an IT action. 😊. Can you plug into 110 if you want? I love the work on solar. The fan is a choice in lieu of air conditioning? Is there a hole in roof for fan? Really nice work and great videos.

    Hello, thank you so much for sharing this! You did a beautiful job! I'm planning to do something similar. Do you know what the empty weight of the trailer is after you completed the conversion?

    I loved what you did with the trailer. You have amazing skills. Great job. My only concern is the spare, to get to it you will have to open that side door. That door opens on the driver side and that would be directly into the flow of traffic. Maybe you can put the spare in that tack room or maybe keep it in the bed of your pickup? I would be very careful being on the side of the road and having to open that side door. Looking forward to videos of your travels.

      Thank you for your concern, the manufacturer actually had it mounted in the dressing room as well. I’m trying to find time to put together videos on my travels. Never enough hours in the day.

      I was gonna suggest mounting to the outside of trailer, side or underneath

      @hollijacobs7858  Před 3 lety

      My last tire that was mounted outside dry rotted. I’m happy with where it is at. Guess it’s all about personal choices.

    You are a very multitalented woman! Nice job! I see you posted this two years ago, how are the solar panels working out?

    • @hollijacobs7858
      @hollijacobs7858  Před rokem

      Very well, on shady or rainy days, I change the setting on the refrigerator so I don't use as much juice. So maybe another battery will be needed.

    This is fantastic! You did a wonderful job. How did you wire your sink faucet? Do you have a water pump?

    • @hollijacobs7858
      @hollijacobs7858  Před rokem

      I have an office water pump that charges off my solar with a USB. In video VI “final touches” you can sort of see it. It’s just a hose down to the water source. I got the pump off Amazon - search for “5 gallon drinking water dispenser”

    How is the solar working for you. We are considering following your lead but wanted to see how practical it has been running your “fridge” and everything. Do you find your fans have been sufficient?

  • @valerieshaw8091
    @valerieshaw8091 Před 2 lety +1

    What a spectacular job you've done! I'm curious how the Fantastic Fan is working out in hot, humid Ohio summers? And did you end up adding some type of ladder to the top bunk?

    • @hollijacobs7858
      @hollijacobs7858  Před 2 lety

      Thanks!!! The fan works great for me, but I don’t go horse camping when it’s 95 and miserable. I had a friend get me some old leather stirrups, I mounted them to climb up to the bunk, getting down we use the kitchen counter to scramble down. It’s working so far. 😉

    Love your converse and you did a wonderful job. Would you mind telling me the brand of your awning? I’ve been looking for that awning and I don’t know the name brand I’m wanting to add it to my living quarters trailer. I also ride mule love my babies..

    What size is that front dressing room? I am looking at purchasing a feather lite and doing something similar... you did an amazing job

    • @hollijacobs7858
      @hollijacobs7858  Před 3 lety +1

      Not sure, I would have to measure. But it’s two horse with the extended dressing room. I have a feeling it’s just the three horse with the wall moved back.

  • @carlapierle8623
    @carlapierle8623 Před 2 lety +1

    Very nice! It has everything you need! Do you have an inverter from AC to DC for things like charging your computer?

    • @hollijacobs7858
      @hollijacobs7858  Před 2 lety +1

      I could easily add one to charge my computer, but I don’t bring it on vacation. Besides a fridge for food, fans, charging phones and lights, I have no other needs. I like to unplug on trips. 😉

    I am doing a similar conversion with my gooseneck aluminum horse trailer. I am trying to find walls that will look like wood without being too dark. What was the wood you used for your walls? I love the grain and appearance with the stain.

    • @hollijacobs7858
      @hollijacobs7858  Před 2 lety

      it is just Luan. I was picky at the store and went through the whole stack. It came out pretty dark, but for now I like it. the white ceiling brightens it up.

  • @Ninjaharlot

  • @jamiepittman8389

    I look frwd to getting mine!! But, you lost me for DYI with the solar wiring complexity. I don’t remember hearing you say what the cost was. ??

    • @hollijacobs7858
      @hollijacobs7858  Před 3 lety

      The solar kit was around $300. Battery $250. $100 misc supplies. Definitely do your research on solar. I spent hours watching videos and reading and studying diagrams.

  • @playlists.and.painthorses

    Wow! You did all that yourself? Amazing. What did it cost you all said and done? How far are you from Ohio, I'll pay you to do a solar installation on mine! 🤣

    • @hollijacobs7858
      @hollijacobs7858  Před 2 lety

      Sure did, build it all myself, I don’t trust husband with power tools! 😉I would say about $1500 in materials including solar. And yes I’m in Ohio! And nope, I won’t install! 😆I’m not a trained or certified professional. But if you watch enough motorhome/skoolie videos you will have enough knowledge to do your own! Just do it! 👍👍👍👍
