Hawkeye's Dog maybe by whatever today's standards are, but when I saw this trailer for the first time it was in a packed theater and I remember hearing the people around me whisper and murmur things like "wow" or "ooh, that looks good"
I liked it then, still do now. It's actually a pretty intense trailer. Lots of energy, and most importantly gives an idea without giving away all the good stuff
i remember seeing the trailer and i thought the movie would be so dumb. then i went and saw it anyway and loved it. ;)

It’s interesting reading the comments about this trailer. How many of you saw this movie when it came out and saw this trailer in theaters? It’s a dated trailer for sure but at the time it was pretty epic and I remember really being excited to see it like whoa... it looked epic.

It's the complete opposite of the theme of the movie expressed by Toulouse's line for the play: "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." The movie goes out of its way to batter that message home with a sledgehammer, yet the trailer turns this upside down.

An astonishingly well-cut trailer for this film, that echoes the brilliance of the film's editor Jill Bilcock. (Did she cut this?) The awful American VO at the start, though, is entirely dispensable!
OK, I see a lot of people hate this trailer. But, as a lover of this film, it just reminds me of all the great moments in it, echoes the extraordinary fast-cutting within the film, and makes me want to see it again. I guess for others, it just doesn't work that way. Interesting...
