Hi Freddy. Loved your Cedar Lawn Cemetery drives. Even though I didn't see my brother's grave I felt a connection. Thank you! I lived a few blocks from there for a while. Growing up Cedar Lawn was known to me as the Protestant Cemetery and Calvary Cemetery was the Catholic Cemetery. My parents are buried in Calvary but my brother, Ira (Ike) Day is buried in Cedar Lawn in a row in front of the tome for Vice President Garret Hobart. When Ike was 17, he worked at Cedar Lawn and would eat his lunch on the Vice President steps which he said was a peaceful spot. When he died of a massive heart attack at 35, his friends thought he would like to be buried there. I did talk to you on Facebook about a year ago to tell you, Thanks for the memories! JD

Most of my family buried here including my GGGrandfather who fought in the Civil War.
That Alexander might be one of my family members, because I'm related to the Alexander's. They lived in ELMWOOD PARK on Washington Avenue

I use to drive pass this cemetery for 22 years everyday on McLean blvd on my way to route 21 to get to work .
My family buried here since late 1870’s. Van Houten
My great grandparents (Hensel/Schoendorf) and grandparents (Hensel) and my stepfather (Zickella) are all buried here.
