    Pro tip for smoke control: Dig the front legs into the earth a bit so the stove is ever so slightly lower at the door and higher at the back. Smoke will gravity drift towards the back of the stove rather than out the front while it's heating up and until the natural draw takes over.

    Very honest review. A lifetime of heating with a woodstove has taught me that your correct on the huffing stove. I like my homemade stoves better but I have the tools to build. As I live in Colorado you are so right about a 6 ft lighting rod. This is a really great video, thank you.

    I recently bought some Titanium Stove Parts, a Stove Jack and a 9' roll of Stovepipe from Lite Ourdoors and was highly impressed with the care they took with my order and how quickly I received it in the UK.
    Likewise, their Shipping Charges were very good.
    The quality of the parts I ordered was very good and I am not surprised that you found the Company and their products to be excellent.
    Thank you for your review of this stove.
    Disclaimer: I have no connection to Lite Ourdoors other than as a customer buying parts at the published prices.
    My opinion of the Company and their products comes from my interactions as a customer.

    I love my XL! The reason for the kink at the stove pipe is that you had it to tight when you fired it. Those three tightening rods do not need to be very tight. I have seen that problem with a lot of these LiteOutdoors stoves. People crank those rods down and that creates a kink when the stove gets hot. You can email the owner of LiteOutdoors and he will tell you not to have those to tight. For the cost, the weight, and the use, this is a really great stove! I want to see how durable it is. I'll let you know after elk season this year. Great review!

      We also found the springs we used to use were putting too much pressure on the plates. We have since changed out the springs, as well as made the stove bodies a touch thicker, and since we made those changes we are not seeing those stove body issues anymore. Best of luck this fall.

    with the stove jack rubber and if your tent has a footprint for a stove its rubber as well, you don't need to worry since its grounded unless your touching it at the time of the strike.

    Nice review. Like you said, easier to set up after a burn. We've never used a stove and have sadly only winter camped a few times in Colorado, but this looks to be a game changer. Something to think about 😎

      The owner Brennen is a very cool guy... he actually offered to replace my stove body under warranty since it had bent a little, but I told him it does not affect how the stove works.

      I don’t think it’s the pipe that bent stove. I just cooked mine in without stove pipe....it bent...it’s the pressure from the spring loaded clamps. The constant pressure during heat creased the body just like yours...I have them as lose as they can be with out falling off

    • @mobsquad8500

    Some experiences : it warps like crazy rendering the stove body practically useless after using 3 days in terms of reassembling. It is all dented up and need to order new stove body. It doest retain heat at all, it cools from red hot to touchable in under 10 min. Try assembling it when its cold and windy and it is warped. The bottom sides need to be way larger so your stove body fits more easily into the groove. And on and on. I would buy one ot the other titanium stoves like pomoly's or winnerwell.

    i was only able to use mine about 9 times before it warped so bad that i couldn't put it together anymore. But i used mine all night during really cold temps.... They are good for an emergency heat source tho.

    • @RestlessWonderer
      @RestlessWonderer  Před 4 lety

      That really sucks... I keep this one burning all night, but don't run it full open where it is glowing red. Will see how it holds up.
      Was it the stove body that warped?

    • @korkalba8658
      @korkalba8658 Před 4 lety +1

      ya, i wasn't able to attach the end caps cause it was all warped.... i ended up getting the square style from Seekoutside and that one is holding up pretty good so far. i've used it about 11 times already and it's still holding shape.

      @@korkalba8658 yup I've read many reviews about the warping issue and that they do not function overtime to bad cause they look to be a great option. I've been running my Seek TI for over 5 years now zero issues.

    • @RestlessWonderer
