When it comes to Ant’s replay value argument, I feel like there’s something he isn’t considering. There’s a concept of the value of a thing and the inherent cost/toll it takes to experience said thing. If you were to go to a Michelin star restaurant and eat a meal crafted by the most skilled chefs in the world, you would be wise to rank it as some of the best food you’ve ever eaten. Like Luca said, you won’t be watching Schindlers list on repeat just as you won’t be listening to We Cry Together on repeat. However you can still appreciate Kendrick and Taylour’s amazing performance. When you use replay value, commercial appeal, and accessibility as such a high metric, the art you enjoy is comparatively what McDonald’s is to the food industry…
Kendrick has the best discography, and it's not even as close as we like to make it seem.

Might Delete Later is so much better than people give it credit for. The cole apology skewed everyone’s view of it. Has some of the best rapping of his career and great production throughout. Arguably a few weak tracks like fever or the joint with central cee. But besides those its consistently great.

Ant putting Untitled Unmastered bellow Scorpion is a horrible take.
That album is the PERFECT example of "quality control", this are DEMOS, and Kendrick presented every single one of them with amazing production, great performances, excelent writing, and keep a consistent vide through the whole project.
I don't want to hear the too short excuse, no one forces them to make around 20 song projects with skips, Kendrick wouldn't have released this if the quality standard wasn't met.
Am i the only one who highly enjoyed "might delete later" i find its a very solid project, and gets overshadowed by the whole 7 minute drill situation(which imo isnt as bad as what some say it is). Nearly the entire album is filled with great rap performances
FACTS I actually love MDL a lot, as just a chill listen through with great performances and a nice experience, but ig 7 minute drill overshadowed the Album too heavily

Might Delete Later grew on me a lot. Cole is rapping his heart out in every song especially something like Trae The Truth In Ibiza and Pi. The beats are solid too, the one thing that rubs me is that the songs dont really like, have any twists, they're pretty straight forward, if that makes sense.

U.U at 21 is insane! Personally i fucking love that project, 05 has some of the best jazz production coming out of Kendrick's TPAB era, and the consistency is much higher than records like Scorpion.
The difficulty with this list is Drake has so many R&B and melodic tracks which take you in such a different direction and feeling to anything by Kendrick or Cole.

Thats why it’s hard for me to consider Take Care a classic. Those R&B performances are instant skips. I hated the title track when it came out but still considered the overall project great at the time.

My personal example for this is Bob Dylan's Bringing it all back home which is my most played album of all time. I think Highway 61 is better but Highway 61 also has way longer songs

Ant's take on overly dedicated is atrocious, its a incredible mixtape, full of bangers, the heart pt 2, average joe is the most underrated kendrick track, growing apart and opposites attract are both better love ballads than loyalty for example, its top 15 material on this list
Eh not really there's many other mixtapes that wipe overly dedicated some cool songs but the quality is not there for it be much higher. The loyalty comparison isn't saying much as it's one of his weaker songs from any his main albums
@@viz683 I know it doesn't hold up to a future tape, da drought 3 or a 1999, but out of these three rappers i fell like O.D is the best one, something like friday night lights might be better on paper but it doesn't have the replay value, and it is a much more solid beginning of career and already showcase what he was capable of doing going forward, that why i mentioned loyalty

Kendricks skills weren't fleshed out enough like they are in his later projects. Something like 1999 is similar in style to OD and does it at a higher level imo.

It's a factor, but think about cinema, the best Marvel movies have insane replayability but aren't better than true masterpieces.
Some of the best movies are hard watches.
