    Hell yeah dude there is a major shortage of comprehensive technique videos for this game. I learned a lot from your sx best lines videos so it’s pretty sick you’re making vids on this game.

      I really appreciate your kind words. I learned to get fast on Milestone games "the hard way" - basically just grinding out time trial until my eyes bled. Like, you know how long it took me to dial in corner scrub without a tutorial? FOREVER. Fortunately, when I started on MX vs ATV Legends I had some friends who were already fast that helped me get going. Regardless, it was a privilege for me to put out content that will allow people to learn the easy way. Comments like yours make me know all the effort was worth it, so I appreciate it a lot.

    Super handy video cheers mate. I just got the game on sale and thought I was getting massively skill checked at the start. Bots were clearing jumps and I could barely make the smaller ones, whacked on the acceleration upgrade and utilized the clutch a lot more out of turns and even on landings for that boost of speed and it's a different game already.

      Yes bro absolutely use clutch boost and manual shifting. Suspension is all about feel, see what gets you more comfortable and run it!

  • @jacksonandy218
    @jacksonandy218 Před 5 měsíci +1

    So 2 things for me out of every moto game ive ever played, i just can not get used to the manual shifting at all. Ive tried it before, i just cant use it. The alternative i do is im actually really smooth and i have great clutch and throttle control and that makes up the acceleration you usually get when you use manual. It works for me. And the second thing, this preference is not for everybody but first person with max FOV is probably one of the comfortable cameras in the game. Now adays my attention spand is pretty low compared to how i used to game back then. I used to be really good but over time ive lost that skill. But overall, great tutorial for the game. My only difference is camera, automatic shifting and tuning. Before season 2, i was running really good tunes untill rainbow started changing the physics. But still great video.

      First person on MX vs ATV Legends is spectacular. For the top players, it may not work as well but its great. I know I was faster in first person than third when I started on the game but I eventually got more comfortable in third person. Im kinda kicking myself for not talking about 1st person in the video so I appreciate you bringing it up!

  • @carsonduncan6594
    @carsonduncan6594 Před 5 měsíci +3

    1st person is so much easier to rail corners however it’s hard to adjust to what’s in front of you so it’s 50/50 what’s better. Auto is fine but you legit have to clutch boost every other second and it works.

    • @jacksonandy218
      @jacksonandy218 Před 5 měsíci

      Thats what kinda sucks about legends, i wish they would work on the bikes speed and open up the tuning alittle more. I was playing with the pro physics on, but i recently have been playing with it off it feels more natural to be honest.

  • @Makron5
    @Makron5 Před 3 měsíci +1

    This video's tuning section took me from dying and struggling in my MX vs ATV career mode where it felt like I had done everything wrong and everyone was faster than me and now I've got a super fast demon bike that can actually take the bumps and such. The tuning is really important and the stock tune seems horrible, esp if you decide to tune top speed because you think the bars mean something, I was hurting myself with stage 1 top speed. I kept my box on auto because clicking sticks kinda sucks and the AI is probably using auto as well so it's "fair". But yeah, supercross and rhythm were killing me until I found out that the tunes were so important. Also this video taught me that there's even more techniques to this game and to lean back a bit more. With my bike setup and some extra techniques that assure I don't just get ruined by everything, I'm feeling more confident and having more fun with pretending to be a dirt bike racing star.

    I would say don't just spam the clutch boost, because it will shoot you off the track. Use it when you are in control and slowly figure out when is a good time... I see new guys clutch boosting in the corners and shooting off the track all the time.

    • @hostilecarrot
      @hostilecarrot  Před 5 měsíci +2

      I was kinda being facetious there but you are totally right, if you clutch boost before a corner you will shoot otb for sure. I just meant use it as much as you possibly can without crashing. Thanks for watching and I really appreciate the kind words.

    In the air, the stick flip forward can be done like 10 times, but mostly only on the way up, it can be used to cheese big lines. Third gear seems to have the most noticable effect in the air, first gear has almost no effect

    For outdoor, I agree with your settings except for two of them: I run my tires on normal default. I used to run them on sticky 2 or sticky 3 just like you, but I need to slide around turns, especially Outdoors. Just that change alone improved my times by one or two seconds on every track outdoors, and I'm already pretty darn fast.
    The other thing is my suspension is 3 all the way to the right.
    It's pretty rare that I find players that can hang with me, and when I do, it's a joy! And there are players that are so much faster than me, which makes me wonder how the hell are they that fast?
    You are absolutely right. You have to be in manual transmission in order to be fast. You just have to.
    But the ONE thing that really opened up fast for me......was using the manual camera on the "Chase Far" setting and pulling it back as far as it will go so that I'm looking at my bike and it looks kind of small cuz I'm far away from it. This way you get a really good field of view and you can see everything the other thing I can only suggest to make people really fast as you have to have to have to be looking ahead. It's almost like you're zoning out in a way you have to kind of use your peripheral vision and be looking ahead on the track at all times otherwise you're just going to be slow as fuck. But, make sure you're always quickly looking back at what's directly in front and under you, or you'll make a mistake and get tossed off the seat, lol
    I usually use the 2021 CRF but I have them all.

      Was there anyone involved with this game that actually rides dirt bikes?
      I really struggle to understand why a 450 in 2nd gear at 20 mph accelerates like a pw50 in sand or why you have to spam the clutch like an 85cc 2 stroke.
      Also get rid of the stupid animations. When you case a jump you either crash or you don't. You don't just sit on the bike and let go of the handle bars.
      This game could've been so good. Instead we got whatever this is.

    got the game on pc about 4 days ago 2 of which have been spent in online play, and so far the community for this game has been... just yikes. the discord is dead and the only people i've been able to go up against are in public lobbies in small numbers (me and two other riders on average), and most just ram and push each other off the track and have zero racing etiquette or respect, and the others just fly by everyone race after race until the playlist hits a track they aren't good at and then leave, and if they don't and you beat them they might get get pissy (surprised myself and cooked a guy who had beaten me 4 races in a row, he left just before he got a dnf and i later received a dm on steam with a very "lovely" message in it).
    idk dawg maybe i've just been getting unlucky with public lobbies but if your on pc and not like those i've mentioned above i'd love to hop on and play with you sometime, god knows you'd be saving me a headache XD.
    besides all that great vid, though i gotta know... how much exactly do the bikes differ in performance and handling from one another, and is it something to watch out for when picking one up?

      @@hostilecarrotyeah agree! The developers have been doing a super fantastic job with this game! I do wish that they would make a first person view race Lobby only that would be kind of cool because even though I do race in third person and I'm very fast I'm just as fast and first person and wish I could get in a Lobby where I knew for certain that everybody was in it. It would just make things more fair. And also I do not like that they don't include every single outdoor track in the rotation when online racing. They said that every couple of weeks or once a month or something they were going to change the tracks up but they haven't been doing that the outdoor tracks have been the same rotation for the last few months. Like there's no coffee Hill and a couple of the other ones they have left out
