I was on the set too. Actually I was the person who invested his Hard earned money in this film. I own everything from actors to the camera.

English is mostly German with a little latin and greek mixed in.
Did not even realise that, you have subtitles though. Best thing is it was real German no poor fake attempt.

For a low budget movie this was one of the best in acting. Some desend accents, natural German and all. A complex story of pow's made interesting, well done!
The critics and judges agree, this is a great film. In 2022-23 the film worldwide has won 46 awards.
HOld my beer, This movie was 5 Stars, The sound is very very good, the costume are wow! the movie is excellent. i was very surprised to find such a gem on youtube. i keep this one in my favorite list.

This was such an excellent movie, thank you to the production team, the director, those responsible for the wardrobe costumes, the screenwriter, and special effects. finally, the great actors who made this movie incredible
Didn’t know what to expect but this one got me hooked. Surprised myself how much it struck a nerve. Barely crossed my mind the abuse, and threat of death POWs faced esp. after surrendering to Western Allies who generally respect rules of war. sadly I’m sure there were multiple incidents like this, but not in all cases was restraint shown. Props to the actor Jake Powers (Rowe) for playing that role so well
This the first time I want to write comments here( in this movie) .last 30 minutes was amazing and I felt I was there and feel the whole pain. It was really realistic.
The soldier that scratched *kilroy was here* on the cave wall is a true thing.
Many *kilroy was here* scratchings have been found and research have narrowed it down to a kilroy that was in the army.

"Everyday war" was in Russia but NOT in France, Italy or anywhere else in the West. There wasn't a war at all in the West in comparison to what was going on in Russia.

Very good for a low budget film- so many conflicting emotions- memorable for many reasons. War is Hell.
As a combat Veteran myself, have to say this is the finest, most accurate film I have ever watched.
My uncle served in WW II. A sergeant in the US Army, he participated in the Italian and German campaigns. Was in combat most of the time; e.g., the various platoons in which he was assigned got wiped out three times. He would reluctantly tell me stories about his war days that matched what was going on in this film. His biggest fear at the fronts, what he called the "88's" (German artillery).
WW II really messed him up. A good but troubled man.

110,000 actually. War is brutal, no one survive it without terrible scars.
People should note how penetrating the human voice is, either directly or from a radio. I've spent a lot of my life in forests, and usually hear people long before seeing them. So if you don't want to be detected by others or animals, keep it shut. Smoking, using scented soap or deodorant is just as bad. Dead giveaway, with the emphasis on dead.
Don't forget that on a quiet night a whisper carries far .

This is a decent war story with some good acting and action scenes. Closed Caption gives you English for the German. Well worth the watch. Enjoy. Thank you.

This is a great movie considering its not a major studio production. It is also thankfully free of current political tropes called "artistic licensing".
Being German I'm glad they actually used real German language, instead of some English ppl with terrible fake German accents. Nice

best WW2 movie I've seen in a while, wonderfully scripted and performed.
Here we go again. I didn't get into the movie more than 3 minutes and you have the lieutenant shoving the enlisted soldier to the side like he was a sack of potatoes! A patrol in combat is like a band of brothers officers and nco's included, a leader can be firm but he must treat his men with respect, if he does they will follow him to the gates of hell, if not he will earn their contempt. Love has ZERO to do with leadership. You can have idiots for troops and in the end if you train them well and lead with good decisions the smart ones will follow, the rest go to hell and what remains learn from their mistakes.

Can't explain exact but it got me glued to it till the end. Much, way better than Hollywood gongho mega shits.
Look I'm not the final word on anything, but if you're in territory with the possibility of enemy contact, wouldn't you be spread out in a column with no talking and everyone moving quietly with weapons at the ready, or do I need to shut my pie hole and mind my own business. A movie of a low profile ~ yet with so much depth ~ well worth watching with great acting ~ got to be a ten ~
Acteurs bien choisis, dialogues réalistes, bonne réalisation pour un film intimiste à l'échelle du troufion. Alors ne vous attendez pas à des scènes de bataille épiques avec des boules de feu et des tirs de mitrailleuse dans tous les coins, ceci est le style opposé, mieux vaut le savoir avant...

GREAT MOVIE!! I feel like it's not low budget at all... just made by producers not known to well yet. Hopefully they make more! If it was low budget, we wouldn't of seen that Germans jaw hanging off lol 😮
English starts early in the movie it's not all german, and it has English sub titles for the English dialogue of all things.
The fact that the person who made this went from plastic army men to this, is just absolutely mind blowing to me.

Lots of Germans (veterans of North Africa) wore tropical uniforms in Italy.
Was that SSGT wearing Afrika Korps to or something else?

At 42:56. They mention the part of Chicago called Hegewisch. Extreme South East side of Chicago. At that time it was populated by the majority of Poles. Extremely nice neighborhood up until the late 80s. That's why I moved out. Crime and shootings came to the area.
This is one of the more realistic WWII movie I ever seen showing real genuine feelings on both sides realizing they all are simply Human beings !!

The Wermacht were atleast somewhat honorable with the POWs, unlike the Waffen SS. The SS were absolute monsters n committed most, if not all, of the War Crimes that Germany was acussed of after the War. Thats how it is in most historical records n books about the War. Absolute great piece for a low budget movie !
