Pull cables can be funny things. I've had them go very stiff without always being able to work out why - glad you solved your snag.
I guess running in such a hot area of the engine bad didn’t help matters at all
For sure Matt - some of those cables have a nylon coating inside so the wire slides freely inside - great idea until the nylon starts to melt. Others have nylon outside, which melts and works its way inside same result.
