    It’s always great having a parts machine. My flexicoil sprayer’s tank totally blew apart when it was completely full of chemical in the field, man that sucked. Now I bought a newer bigger flexicoil and now I have lots of parts now.

    I bet that there are at least 10 watchers looking at your sprayer who live close to you who could repurpose the sprayer frame, wheels and tires, and possibly other parts. I myself definitely wouldn’t reuse any of the chemical tanks for drinking water.

    Hey Wes, have you ever heard of Byron seeds? They do a lot of cover crop seed. They have been doing research on the benefits summer annual’s especially sorghums and Sudan grass has on soil. Just an idea seeing as you already have hay equipment. We will take a winter cover like triticale, harvest it in spring and no till a summer annual mix into that. harvest that in fall and then no till wheat or a blend of something for the following winter. All you would need is a bale wrapper and you could sell baleage. It gives your ground another added rotation which I found is always a benefit. Selling forage isn’t a problem here. We’ve found most times you don’t even need to use any chemical which is always a bonus. Just something to think about.

    We have a little BNL50 3pt hitch sprayer with a 15(?) ft boom and hand wand we mainly use for spot spraying fence lines and surplus area.
    Rebuilt the pump, pressure regulator and wand.
    You’re right, they are pricey, and the fittings are British straight and British tapered pipe thread and a bear to adapt to anything more readily available.
    It’s been relatively trouble free and parts are easy to find on-line.

    Search for marine grade all stainless steel hose clamps. They are high, like $2.25 for a 2” but nothing pisses me off when the cheap-o’s screw rusts out. I’m sure you can get them a little cheaper if you buy them in bulk (75-100 clamps.)

I can send an email if you reply with your email address Wes.

    You should keep that sprayer tank and frame and turn it into a fire water tank in case when you know when you have a tractor or square baler fire at least you have a water tank to handle that fire. Or turn it into a desel fuel tank. Waste Not Want Not

      I have a chronic cough due to living in East Tennessee, according to my MD. I used to get the Halls honey lemon from Sam’s Club but now they sell Ricola lemon mint. Always sugar free because I’d probably be a diabetic from the sugary cough drops. Either brand is ok with me. I could choke at times on the phlegm if not for the cough drops.

    😂 I wondered who still buys Hardi. I traded my Navigator 3500 in 2017, it was the biggest piece of junk. Dealers dropped them cause Hardi is such a pathetic shitty company. Most dealers won’t take a Hardi sprayer on trade cause they can’t sell them. MM Weaver took mine cause I’m a good customer.

      @@onelonleyfarmer Mine had pump problems after problems, problems with one hydraulic boom, etc. etc. Try finding anyone at Hardi that knows anything technical. It's ridiculous. I'm running a Jacto Advance 2000 which is been pretty good but parts are expensive. Whenever I buy a new one, it will probably be a CropCare. Paul Zimmerman builds a really nice reliable sprayer.

      Man you did not listen to a thing he has said. He is comparing easily erodible soils and how minimum or covercrops save the top soils. Yall are so quick to take his comments as personal insults over basic conversations.. learn to listen to what he is saying, not what you want to hear..He is showin that you are never to smart to stop learning new ways to save money. Or make money.

    • @timshirk6261
      @timshirk6261 Před rokem +4

      Wes is simply stating the obvious and not bashing anyone. Without a doubt tillage is very hard on soil eco system which is what he is saying. If you don’t understand soil eco systems you should not be farming putting it mildly

    • @timshirk6261
      @timshirk6261 Před rokem +3

      I need to make correction in that if you have no interest in learning soil eco system you should not be in farming as I was once ignorant of it as well as very few people start off farming understanding it

    • @timshirk6261
      @timshirk6261 Před rokem +3

      There are many different ways one can farm and be in tune with the natural eco system but tillage is not one of them. If your system does not do well without tillage it is because you are not in tune with things. Probably winter cover crops that get put on top of soil following spring would fix the problem and after a few years would build your soil and your checking account.
