Hey @ap-sport , it’s actually a Smallrig Follow-Focus and I bought it separately. It’s not necessary but it is convenient 👍. I hear ya, the DOF MK3 is definitely sought after, I’m sure a next batch will be needed.
@@Gino. Okay, have to look into that. In the kind of videos I shoot (rally cars) I often need to zoom in and out quickly and maintain focus. Do you think this follow-focus could help me with this or what’s the upside with it?
@@ap-sport it is convenient and may help ya but it’s really all subjective. Having the follow focus with the rods/ baseplate will add weight so I don’t know your setup, do you use a tripod/ monopod? Because that will determine whether the follow focus will add value for ya.
@@Gino. It differs a little from time to time. Sometimes gimbal, sometimes tripod and sometimes completely handheld.
@@ap-sport ah I see, so then you definitely seem like the flexible type to at least try a follow focus. Again not necessary but convenient at pulling focus. 👍

@Ayethatsty naw bro I don’t work for or with BeastGrip but I wish 👍. I received mine mid/late April (approx.) thru their KickStarter campaign. If you are in similar boat, ping em and get a status on your pledge. I did not receive any shipment info, it just randomly and pleasantly showed up 👍. I’m sure it’s just delayed with so many that pledged! I’ve never had any issues dealing with BeastGrip and I’ve been supporting for ages now since I’ve known about ‘em! Good luck bro!

Anyway….I am trying to understand how this is beneficial? I get you want an expensive camera. I do too. Currently I have an iPhone 15 that I use sometimes as my b cam. My main shooter is a lumix s5iix and where I can make the iPhone footage match. When I pixel peep. I can definitely tell a huge difference between the two with the iPhone being the worst. Not terrible just worse than the lumix. I guess I am just wondering if you think this iPhone setup is better than a camera like the s5 or a73 or a gh5? I’d much rather use my phone since that is something I already have than to buy a new camera. But if I am just going to add a lens and it increases the poor picture quality then that wouldn’t be an option. I hope we can move past the initial misunderstanding..
@@RealPivotTV I guess we both coulda chosen a different route. I’ve just been seeing more and more of people questioning me why? Like I owe anybody an explanation. I honestly can care less what people think, not everyone has to have the same purpose for sharing content/ for memories/ hobbyist/ for practice/ for professional content/ who knows? You sound like you know your cameras, I’m definitely no professional, this is just a hobby. I love tech, visuals, form, function, knowledge, features, new technology, brand, etc. And to answer your question, I don’t think this iPhone setup is the be-all-end-all, cameras are still going to be far superior but that gap is getting somewhat narrower, and it’s modular so you can add accessories to it, why the hell not? This setup is definitely a niche’ but I think it’s pretty awesome. When’s the last time a camera shot a video, edited it, uploaded it, emailed it, then surfed the net and watch CZcams?
To be completely honest I’m perfectly satisfied with the stock iPhone 15 Pro Max quality. I just wanted to add cool shit to it. If we all did things the same way, it’d be a really boring world I’d want no part of. At the end of the day, I shoot things for me. If you like it and enjoy it, cool. If you don’t agree, then I just did you a favor by being your guinea pig. Thanks for clearing the air.
@@Gino. I hear you man just remember engagement is engagement. Whatever your reasons are if you put stuff out on the web people are gonna have an opinion on it. Getting bent out of shape will be a full time job. CZcams doesn’t care what kind of engagement you get as long as you get it…
As far as the phone goes it’s definitely interesting. I’d like to see a smart phone with a real live camera sensor on it or better yet maybe a way to add one by connecting it to the usb c port. That would be bad ass…
@@RealPivotTV That is true, I haven’t been looking it at it as engagement is engagement. Lately, it’s been engagement is en-ragement, where people will criticize how crappy my videos are (and I agree with them, again, not a professional here), then I go to their channel to get some pointers (to get better) and they have zero vids.
That’d be a great idea, hopefully they can make it small/ thin enough with all the features because I would rather have a thin camera than a fat phone.
