- Today the Garrett Vortex VX9 proved its depth potential by picking up a target at 16 inches deep!
With so much speculation around what the new Garrett Vortex can do, especially from people who have never tried one, I can honestly tell you it is a wonderful machine.
My friend Chris had his first test of the Garrett Vortex VX9 today and gives you his honest review at the end.

Belief is the only option, because the Vortex wasn’t shown here in use. No VDI screen video over a target, no demostration of tones over a target. But there was alot of demostration of the pinpointer in action. But the Benny Hill music episode was entertaining at least.
No sounds, no live digs. What's the point, and it's release date July /August.. Is it going to be blind buying then?? Find it utterly ridiculous, utterly..

Garrett better make a professional detector these vortex detectors are lacking at best.
I can't wait for my Vx5! It looks great. Steve Herchbach of Detector Prospector felt compelled to write about his 2nd target the first time he tested a Vx9 last week. He found the oldest coin he has found in America at a gone over park in mineralized soil! That with a lady in England made a short video of her postage size yard where she found a deep coin that a lot of detectors missed.
I usually comment the next day to avoid the haters, I don't get it.

@@danielkennedy3073Then you’ve missed the fallout following the media debut… Just because you don’t “get it” doesn’t mean the criticism isn’t valid. I’ll go further and say the criticism will probably help Garrett improve on the initial shortfalls in the specs of their top tier VX9 so many have pointed out.

Leap of faith… And how much will you pay with accessories added? Trying to learn more about the Vortex, by these testor videos never show the Vortex finding a target, just a cut to the open plug and pinpointer in the hole… Useless really for reviewing the detector.

@@DiggerDawnYes, I read it as well as the numerous copy/paste replies. But it doesn’t negate the fact that doing a video on a product should be informative about the product itself, which isn’t being done with your mentioned restrictions.

Is Garrett still not allowing you to show the screen over a target and letting your viewers to also hear the tones of your targets? That would certanly be helpful to see and hear. also, is this a prototype -or- a finalized product that you are using in this video? Thanks.
It's a prototype which needs updates still
It's a dumping ground, that's why there's loads of house goods knocking about, we have a few fields like it

Awesome video dawn I’m definitely enjoying you put the vortex though it’s paces and those cat’s eyes probably get stuck in tractor tires as the weight of the tractor or the trailer can pull them out 👍

Tractors pick up the cats eyes in the wheels then they drop off in the fields I reckon Dawn you can hear your enthusiasm is back with Victor the coin monster 😊

In all of my years detecting I have never seen any machine or company get the hate that Garrett and the Vortex are getting.

I know, hate comes from the top and feeds down, Garrett arent really bothered about what machine can beat what, they just want to supply the people with the best product they can, probably a lot are a bit nervous that their good old nox might not be so good anymore ;-)
@@DiggerDawn So true Dawn. Here in Western NY Minelab is king. I meet so many people when I detect, 7 out of 10 are Minelab users. They won't even touch a Garrett let alone swing one. Its funny how their attitude changes when I show them all of the coins and jewelry I have recovered with my Garrett Apex and my AT Pro. I personally don't care what anyone chooses to use. I don't like the brand bashing that goes on. Garrett and it's people are a class act and I'm glad that they are not bothered by the haters.
@@bobkurmis5347 I have found gold rings, numerous coins, a half gold sovereign and loads of other stuff with my Quest Q30 i purchased back when they first came out around 2019/20 after watching tons of videos and researching, but it's a hobby and haven't been detecting here in Uk for about 3yrs now but the reason i never purchased a Garrett back then was because they looked like a shitty wee toy a kid would play with. They got so much stick for this and rightly so. Paid about £300 for my quest and it's an unbelievable bit of kit but i would never pay anymore for a detector, certainly not £699 for this Garrett shown here. Each to their own at the end of the day but you won't find anything more with a detector that costs £400 more than my 5yr old Quest will.
Which version, and are you getting wireless headphones or other accessories to use with it? If so what are you paying? Thanks and good luck!
Garrett is stuck in the 90s while Nokta and Minelab are destroying the competition. The Nokta Triple score is lightyears ahead of the Vortex and the Minelab xterra elite is in another galaxy.

All the reviews I have seen points to it being a sweet machine.....I want one...👍

How do you really know, we couldn’t see the detector actually find those targets. Certainly not a review video of the detector itself.

@@DiggerDawnThen your time and video is fruitless for an actual review. It just feeds the already mounting criticism of missing features for a modern detector that were listed in the released specifications.
Great video 2,060 views on 7 hours! The Dunlop tag was a key fob or for a leather watch fob end.

It looks like the Vortex will give the Manticore and the Deus II a run for its money for depth of finds! It is very impressive.
@@Garrett_metaldetectors It woud be helpful to allow your You-Tube presenters to show the screen & hear the tone response over targets. Why not share that? A glimpse of the detector from a far sitting on the ground and the video cutting to a view of an open plug with a pinpointer scanning a hole does nothing to present the detector itself.
This review don't make sense no sounds or VDI is Garrett hiding something, I won't buy any metal detector with out hearing the sounds or seeing VDI numbers first
Agreed. This new detector seems to be buried in secrecy. You would think after the official media launch they would actually show the machine in ful use, showing VDI, allowing tones to be heard, etc.. It doesn’t make any sense to keep a cloak of secrecy over it if they actualy want people to consider buying one.

Well I have the apex with reaper coil and I also have a 300i with nel tornado both do the same apart from the apex will find tiny stuff

they are usually embedded in roads so that headlights light them up at night

No you don't need to buy a computer, you can take it to regton who would do it for you. We are using them now to fine tune everything so you don't have to update

The cats eyes could have been on the rear of a farm vehicle, they are used as reflectors as well as in roads 😂

Looks like a really nice machine. Could you use it without the headphones so we can hear what it sounds like? I have a Nokta multi-kruezer and the chattering in multi- frequency mode drives me crazy sometimes 😅

The Makro multi kruzer is a selectable frequency machine, how did you get a multi?
So no live digs, no screen shots, no tone id's! So did the vortex find anything or was it just the AT Max! Why the secrecy if the machine is that good! Strange!

@@timbrown8581the Vortex is definitely lacking. The better choices are the cheaper Triple Score or the Minelab X-Terra Elite which is cheaper than the 9 and has much better discrimination and target id.
