I recorded this cover on the 8th of December, that day I watched some of Roxette latest shows, I watched her looking great and singing amazing, next day she died.. So I thought I should upload this song a bit earlier this week. I want to dedicate it to her and her amazing band!

This song was recorded and then filmed in my home studio. This instrumental I downloaded from internet. All the recording, mixing, mastering, filming, editing and uploading I do myself.
"The Look" is a song by the Swedish pop duo Roxette. It was released in early 1989 as the fourth single from their second studio album, Look Sharp! (1988). It became an international hit, and was one of the most successful singles of 1989. It topped the charts in 25 countries.
Gessle wrote "The Look" while learning to program an Ensoniq ESQ-1 synthesizer, and stated that the song's "extremely important" sixteenth-note rhythm was inspired by ZZ Top.
The first two verses are composed of guide lyrics, with Gessle explaining in the liner notes of their 1995 compilation album Don't Bore Us, Get to the Chorus! that they were "words just scribbled down to have something to sing. Couldn't come up with anything better, so we kept them. Everybody gets lucky sometimes."
🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: My name is Alyona Yarushina, or Aly. I was born in Russia, and I am a singer, a musician,
I play the piano and do many arrangements myself, I’m in love with 80s and 90s rock. In Russia, I played with several bands. One of them is the best Led Zeppelin tribute band in Russia called "Plumbum Dreams". The other one is called "Back from the USSR", where we played Beatles songs in my own arrangements. We played in Liverpool, England almost every year on the Beatles week fest. My dad, Valeriy Yarushin is my bass player in this band. He's a legend of Russian folk-rock and his band “Ariel” was most popular in the 70s and still is now. I learned a lot from him.
In 2004, I won the “International Hopes of Europe” competition in Sochi, Russia along with the “Grand Prix” prize for singing I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston.
During my career, I had the opportunity to perform with great artists such as Chick Corea, Chris Slade (AC/DC drummer), Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper guitarist), Innes Sibun (Robert Plant's guitarist), David Campbell (musical producer and arranger of Muse and Adele), Brian Tichy (drummer for Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Foreigner, Ozzy Osborne), Hal Bruce and others.
I like a lot of different song styles like rock, pop and jazz. I love classic rock.Bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Boston, Oasis, Jeff Buckley, Vixen, Janis Joplin, Aerosmith, Guns'n'Roses, Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Winger, Skid Row, Sandy Saraya and others.
For some of my covers I do full MIDI instrumentals by myself using an M-Audio Oxygen MIDI keyboard. I also do all the back vocals & mixing and mastering by myself using Logic Pro.

RIP to one of my favourite singers and best voices ever, Marie Frederikkson. I've always thought Alyona has a similar voice.
While I'm an old school rock 'n roll guy, been listening to Zeppelin, the Stones, ZZ Top, Queen, Slade, the Who and those types of bands since the late '60s Roxette got on my radar, as did other bands from the days when MTV actually played music videos, and I enjoyed their songs and videos. I've watched a number of their videos and live performances here on CZcams. This is a fitting tribute to Roxette and Marie, fine job Alyona.

What an awesome cover and tribute. Roxette was one of my favorite groups growing. Listened to them all the time. In my music mix of a Roxette cane on it was never bypassed, I always listened.
Your rendition the I really liked is unlike other covers you did not change pitch or cords or completely change the sound, everything was on point and sounding just like Marie and per with a modern hook.
