Everett Celebrating His 90th Birthday - Northwest 6 Shovel, Mechanical Controls

Everett's family came to Brownsville for his 90th birthday party. A nice bunch of people. I don't know where they got that Norhwest orange dress shirt, but it really added to the occasion.
Everett was running machines as usual, as smooth as usual. The air control 6 was down for repairs, so the mechanical 6 took over. It's not quite as fast as the air 6, but Everett had no problem with it. Notice the little tricks to clear the sticky Brownsville dirt. Murphy diesel.
At 5:45 is a 1-1/2 ton Chevy G506. Many of these went to Russia.
The video ends when the camera overheated, but Everett kept going.

An excellent video!! So well done featuring Mr. Everett DeBerry as he expertly operates the Northwest Model 6 shovel. 90 years old and he can still operate the machine with finesse. I am blessed to know this man. Thanks SteamCrane for doing this terrific video.

We've cut back on travel, getting old.
We missed the Coal Park too, wanted to see the second big Marion, and several great Amish steam shows.
