In this video I react to Mitchell and Webb Kill the Poor sketch. Who knew economics was this morally tough?

If you haven't seen it yet, Mitchell and Webb do a sketch, "Are we the Baddies"
It's fantastic
Agreed, I hope he checks it out.
That and their 'conspiracy theories' sketch.
By Vectron!
@Martin wasn't it the scrolls? ;)
@Martin 🍾🥂
Important to take some time for yourself mate, we’ll still be here
The sketch is based on Dean Jonathan Swift's (the Gulliver's Travels guy) satirical essay 'A Modest Proposal'.
Well, yes it is. Isn't all modern satire? I don't recall "A modest proposal" having stooges as this sketch does or having an actual punchline. It's been many years since I read "A modest proposal" do I need to refresh my memory?
Never apologize for being human, as my Dad always said (I know he wasn't the first to say it, He was my first to hear it from) "We work to live, not live to work", wise words to live by. Family comes first, always.
You gotta take time for your family whenever you damn well want or need to mate. We support you and appreciate your commitment to your kin.
just like to say, as one of Britains poorer people, it does seem like this is more of a documentary than a comedy show!
No need for the apology, everybody needs chill time 👍
If you've ever smelt a linden tree then boy have i got a sketch for you. Love all the Mitchell and webb stuff
Would certainly go well with the big Victorian beard!
Mitchell & Webb, and Armstrong & Miller. Both very clever, and very very funny.
mitchelll and webb sir digdy chicken caesar plz its bonkers
"....and round up all the dwarfs"
meanwhile, atop a hill
Aragorn: Legolas! What do your elf eyes see?
Legolas: the Labour party turn west. They're taking the dwarfs to Larkhill!
As a Yorkshire lass, I love that you have the Yorkshire Rose flag on your wall…I also love your laugh. It’s completely infectious.
Dominic Cummings whilst chief Tory government advisor: "Let the old die"
Boris Johnson "I'd rather have the bodies stack up than another lockdown."
Lovely chaps. It's scary when satire isn't as bad as the real thing.
Lol, what’s scary is some people believe what they want with no proof, l don’t like either of em, but Cummings is such a a paragon of virtue, one minuet the corbynites hate him and he must not be believed and shunned, To this man is the messiah and why does no one believe him.
@@Typhoidpol Both quotes are alleged and come from government leaks (which tend to be accurate), but as you say unproved.
They are however in keeping with many other things they've said and their general behaviour. Both men display most of the 20 personality traits listed on the psychopath test. Once you realise that their actions make more sense.
Other world leaders that also display psychopathic traits include: Ex-president Trump (obviously), Putin, Kim Jong Un, Bolsonairo, Viktor Orban and Erdogan. Xi and the Aussie PM seem likely too, although I don't know as much about them so it's less clear.
It's thought that 1% of the population are psychopaths so they are more common than most people realise. However since they have a need for power and control they tend to be attracted to certain professions. 6% of politicians are believed to be psychopaths (which equates to 38 MPs), usually the more right wing, though sometimes on the extreme left too (e.g. Stalin and Mao Tse Tung). Other Tories displaying a lot of psychopathic traits include IDS, Hunt and Patel.
CAT scans show psychopaths have little activity in their frontal lobe (the part of the brain that is linked to empathy, conscience, morals, etc.). Think of them as mentally disabled. Just as some people are born blind, deaf or dumb psychopaths are born without a conscience or empathy and so have no compunction about doing things that normal people consider unacceptable - providing they think they can get away with it. This is why they like power as there is greater scope for them to do whatever they like.
Until we start screening government ministers for serious personality disorders we'll keep getting leaders like these. The same for CEOs of major corporations - a staggering 25% are thought to be psychopaths, which explains a lot about why big business behaves as it does.
@@speleokeir psychopaths don't understand human emotion and often are abused or taken advantage of because of it. True, when a psychopath becomes dangerous the become VERY dangerous, but that is a tiny minority of them. The danger comes from high functioning sociopaths. They understand emotion, almost their 9wn. They just don't value others, unable to empathise on the same level as the rest of us. A psychopath may not understand why you are sad over your cat dying, or why they feel disturbed around you during this time, and that may lead to unpredictable behaviour where they think you may be trying to hurt them by being sad about your cat... or some other garbled take on the emotions at play. Or they may feel nothing and just be puzzled by your change in behaviour. A sociopath will see this as an opportunity to sell you a new cat or to try to con you into a seance to talk to your dead cat.
Politicians and CEOs are greatly helped by being high functioning sociopaths. They can make much from having no empathy but understanding emotion enough to manipulate others.
It’s a take on the famous satire ‘A Modest Proposal’ by Jonathan Swift
Don't apologise, family and your health comes first always.
Man your laugh is infectious I love it but damn it is definitely not headphone friendly 😂
It's usually not too bad, but the audio levels weren't well matched in this one, so the laughs were massively louder than the sketch.
Some psychologists reckon that politics and the power it brings, attracts a disproportionate number of sociopaths, even some psychopaths. We have one rather well-portrayed here in the Mitchell and Webb vid! LOL!
Good to hear you taking time off... by the way your laugh is so infectious
It is amazing how many times comedians poking fun at politicians years ago turn out to be predicting the future!
We all need to recharge the batteries, glad you had a good weekend. Welcome back!
Good to see you being sponsored! Shows that you are making an impact.
You should watch Mitchell and Webb -Corner Shop
Well done on getting some fun other than laughing your head off at an almost non-stop barrage of hilarious video clips. That's hard work! Keep the reactions coming!
You’ve been working hard, deserve it!
Check out Mitchell and Webb "are we the baddies?"
This entire sketch is is a reference to Jonathan Swift's essay "A Modest Proposal":

Nice to see that your subscriptions have gone up by about 10,000 in the past month or so 🥂
Check out Mitchell and Webb 'Are we the baddies'.
Good to take some time for selfcare, be that gaming /movie or just walking in the fresh air.
Speaking of gaming I've just ordered myself the "super console X Pro" that I've been seeing so much of on CZcams.
That and having a holiday from work next week will be my self care.
Have yourself a good week 👍
Worryingly this is pretty much what our (UK) government meetings actually sound like
Nobody here is going to mind if you spend time with your family and we get a late or missing video. The two things are light years apart in importance. Please try more Mitchell and Wbb as they literally never make a bad sketch. Try Mitchell and Webb 'Conspiracy theories' or 'Super villain' or...well, anything really!
Enjoy yourself as much as you .like mate! great videos!

In some ways this sketch is based on Jonathan Swift’s satirical ‘A modest proposal’ from 350 years ago - the proposal then being for a relief from famine by eating babies!
If you don't look after yourself this will all become a chore. Glad you enjoyed your weekend.
belated happy birthday to your niece, hope the day was enjoyed by all
Their dinner party, scooby do and Mitchell shooting people if they get something wrong grammatically
Excellent Ecclectic!! Kx

I'm glad you got to relax with your family for a change it's important mate👍great video, love Mitchell and Webb ✌️🇬🇧✌️🇺🇸🍻🍻
02:52 Its disturbing how right he is with this statement. Inflation is at an all time high right now & its the poor who will suffer most.
Armstrong & Miller (the WW2 pilots) have another great one. The Train Song if you haven't seen it already.
Yeah bro, do not apologize for tskig time out to be with your fam or friends. You only pass this way once, it ain't no dress rehearsal... Your fam are the closest ones to you, you'll ever have, so they always come first bro! Glad you had a great weekend!! 👍
On top of Sir digby chicken caesar, you should make a point of watching the Numberwang sketches too, some of them had me in tears.
Hi, Alan. You'll know I've been a fan for a while, now and I want to say congratulations on your sponsorship! Unfortunately, I couldn't continue with the video because of the big difference in volume between you and the video you were playing. This is common on your channel. Is there anything you can do to fix it? I don't want to miss out on more of your great reactions!
nice dude, sponsor's finally noticing you.
Family comes first... Nothing else to be said. All the best mate.
I don't blame you for taking a day off, every now and then I have a computer free day and try and enjoy life as I did before the internet.
Going to have to suggest a reaction to the Brasseye episode, Peadogeddon.
You’ve got to check out M&W Sir Digby Chicken Caesar sketches
Dude don’t worry about taking time off family comes first my man you have you priorities sorted in my opinion.

EB, all that matters to us is that you had a great holiday weekend with your family. As vaudevillian says, we aren't going anywhere.
Have you done 'Are we the Baddies?' That is just hilarious.

"...they've got skulls on them..."
I recorded a reaction that and Kitchen Nightmares and for whatever reason the desktop audio did not come through so it was video of my commentary and laughing
@@TheEclecticBeard Tbh I know the Baddies sketch so well it wouldn't matter to me 😁
Please do more Mitchell and webb/peep show!
EB you’re going to have a look at the one and only Foster Brooks roasting Don Rickles, Hubert Humphrey and Dean Martin. The man was a genius. His dynamic with Dean Martin was brilliant. I discovered Foster Brooks a year or so ago and his timing was pure genius. Your British audience need to discover this icon.

Alan...I love your responses....hilarious but informative...great to see humour crossing national borders
Brass Eye by Chris Morris fantastic comedy spoof documentaries. Also the day-today. A satirist of the highest order.
You need to watch the short clip of Stephen Fry explaining the difference between American and British humour lol he gets it spot on!
Love your reactions . I would like to suggest Larry Grayson for one one of your reactions . He was a very funny story teller .
David Mitchell married Victoria Corren, must be the luckiest man alive.
As others have said, you should have a look at Mitchell and Webb "Are we the baddies?" and the conspiracy theories sketches. They are very funny and very clever.
We would rather you enjoy yourself than try to please us! Don't sweat it brother

Mitchel and webb are my favourite UK "duo" (if you can call it that) Peep show and their sketch show (this) are some of my favourite bits of TV
They have collaborated on another show called "Back", which came out in 2017, and has currently run for two seasons.
@@stuartspencer2161 Yes i've heard of that and i will deffo be checking it out :)

The Two Ronnie's: Dolly Parton, Very funny. worth a look.
I'm glad you've dropped the volume of the introduction, but please drop the volume of your laugh in relation to the video being reviewed!
He has a great laugh, but it's not easy on the ears if you're using headphones.
Always take the Time to be with Family and Friends mate , you are entitled to a life outside of You Tube !🙂👍
Try their CONSPIRACY THEORY SKIT, BRILL
These dudes have one of the funniest shows ever called Peep Show. Please check it out.

Dude loving it..Liverpool Flag in the background YNWA :)
I have a reccomendation for you, similar to Fred Dibna...
There's a similar character a bit older than Fred, called Blaster Bates.... he was an explosives expert who went around in the 1950s onwards, blowing up tree stumps, chimneys, septic pits etc
He used to do after dinner speeches and many have been recorded and are hilarious!
I still have my father's collection of 12 inch LP records.
I suspect his recordings are out there in the digital world...
As an aside, I met one of his friends a few years back who owned a farm where they did B&B. Breakfast was hilarious as he was a very similar character to Blaster Bates with loads of good stories...
Here's a video of Blaster Bates czcams.com/video/kbZsVd7j7l4/video.html
I too have my father's collection of Blaster Bates records. The material got a bit thin as they kept releasing them, but the first few were genius - who can forget the shower of s**t over Cheshire? But would an American have any chance at all with his Cheshire dialect?
not really anything to say to the video except that david mitchell is my all time favourite "panel show guest/host/in any way involved supreme being" but what im actually here to say is that i foudn the beard 3 weeks ago and by now he is definitly my favourite american, in fact are you sure you are really american? you seem way to reasonable for that....anyway definitly my favourite american channel now, second favourite in total...sorry nothing beats lindybeige
Why am I reminded of the UK governments strategy for "dealing with" covid?
Useless Eaters, is what 'they' call us, (the poor & old). The ones who don't put anything in, but take things out!
And socialists lol
"whatever me & the wife played" - We don't want to know about your private life!!!
