- So, gardening leave appears to mean nothing to both Dan Ashworth and Omar Berrada. As reported by Craig Hope, Dan Ashworth sent an email to his own Newcastle United email address inadvertently revealing he was being tapped up by incoming Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada, who was still on gardening leave from Manchester City. Oops!

I'm getting the suspision that Dan Ashworth was Man Utd bound before he joined Newcastle, and Newcastle was a stopping off point to have an inside look at the workings of the club to distrupt it and then steal some of the players to Man U.

I was waiting for you to address this - you didn't disappoint 😊. Presumably we can sue Dan for at least the salary we paid him during garden leave as he didn't comply with his obligations. Also if Jim Rad thinks garden leave is nonsense then he will be giving Dan a contract with a notice period of just 3 months. So Dan can hover up all ManU's knowledge and then jump ship again and join Madrid ..
Chris, remember how Chelsea squirmed around the rules and spent a billion quid in a season, by signing players on 8-9 year contracts? UEFA said at the time that it broke their rules and if they qualified for Europe, they wouldn't be allowed in. At the time they were struggling whilst their new team bedded in, but now they've qualified for the Europa League, what happens? They broke the FFP rules - which is why the PL changed the rules to match Europe. (Whilst making sure nobody else could emulate them).
The club should lodge a complaint immediately and ask for an explanation. Their breaking UEFA rules and spending a billion, cost us sixth place - because FFP held us back whilst Chelsea abused it. There's a rant gathering itself together for you. 🤣 Or will the rules be bent for another top six club? It’s different rules for directors to players - there is no “tapping up” rules that apply here. Newcastle know they will lose at arbitration so are trying to play things out in public
