- Dr. Paa Bobo had one of the most unique voices in Highlife. The second you heard that rasp, you knew some next level akutiabɔ was about to go down.
Historically, he was one of the most successful of the many Highlife artists (along with Okukuseku (Kofi Sammy) and Amakye Dede) who decamped to Nigeria in the mid-to-late 1970s and spend the bulk of their careers recording and releasing their albums in Nigeria.
Dr Paa Bobo "Onyankwa". Travel and see oh...
Thank you soo much I love Dr Paa Bobo songs all the time
Rest in peace paa bobo onye nkwa 🇳🇬
This is time Nigeria is like America and Europe.
Slim G, thanks for bringing us back to our precious music history. This reminds us not to forget our rich hi-life music.
Ghana highlife musicians in the 70s and 80s owes the Eastern Nigeria (Igbos) lot….especially Aba and Onitsha city.
Most of them recorded for almost free at TABANSI recording studio Awka road Onitsha, Aba was a hub for distribution as well Onitsha upper Iweka.
Owe them for what exactly?
Do the people not owe the musicians for the beautiful music they provided? It's not a one way street
He meant it in good nature. I am Ghanaian but I am first to admit the huge influence of the hospitality of the locals in eastern Nigeria on highlife music in the early 1980s. Amakye Dede, comes to mind. The stayed, worked and recorded with the greats of Naija back then. Thank you Onitsa, thank you Nigeria 🇳🇬. Unfortunately things and relationships have turned sour since the.😢
I love Nigeria and most importantly igbos l get so much along with them very intelligent people unique in their own sense. Despite the fact that am a Ghanaian l have lots of igbos friends Okpara has been my friend for several years.God bless the igbos God bless Nigeria and God bless Ghana-Nigeria relationship

Igbo is Ghana ,Ghana is Igbo period
Please who can play me this Ghana old tune Obenja menja
A point of correction: Amakye Dede did not play with Okukuseku where Kofi Sammy and Paa Bobo teamed up to make their fame. However, Amakye Dede began his career with Akwasi Ampofo Adjei’s Kumapim Royals.
What I was saying was that, like Paa Bobo and Kofi Sammy, Amakye Dede moved to Nigeria and had success there. But I see why you interpreted it as you did; I could have written the sentence more clearly.
Good old days 😅😂😂
I Love this song
Hmmmm
