- In todays video, I take a look at one of my favourite ever Porsche's, the 996 911 Turbo.
This generation of 911's was truly special truly special to me as they just felt so raw and mechanical and gave the most involving drive when compared to more recent incarnations.
There was a tangible connection to the road and it felt like you were part of the inner workings of the car when you drove it.
The turbo was an absolute power house with monstrous acceleration, complimented by a wonderful touch of turbo lag with only added to the suspense and thrill that followed when you put your foot to the floor.

The 996 Turbo is right on the inflection point between analog and digital for the 911 generation - the first actually usable and practical supercar (for its time).
What a classic look! The headlights, the wheels, the curves. It just all comes together perfectly.
