Thanks for sharing, I am an English teacher in Turkey in a private school. But students in my school are not like those kids. Your students look respectful and eager to listen. Sometimes i can not even make them sit down their places. Everything becomes a chaos in my class. You are lucky to have a class like this 😢
Thank you, Aysu! I am very lucky indeed! Chinese kids are probably the most obedient and polite students in the world. Respect for teachers is a core Chinese value and a fundamental social norm.
@@Teacher-Val I agree with you I wish you good luck,👍
Perhaps, the number of your students is large

Hello teacher Val . Thanks for sharing your lessons . They are helpful. I teach high school students , 12th and 11th grades . When I teach a text , I usually let them comment on a picture , ask them to read silently , help them know the meaning of new vocabulary , ask them yes/no questions , write definitions , let them work in groups or in pairs to do some guestions related to the text .
Thanks for sharing your classes! You're a great teacher!

That's true, and it seems to be a common scenario in most settings. Typically, teachers have a handful of active students while the majority of the class tends to prefer a more passive role in participation. 😉

Teacher Val-Your children are perfect!:)
Yes, they are! Very smart!
I love your channel so much
Hello Teacher Val, thank you for another amazing, stimulating lesson!
I think it isn't so playful as the lessons for the first graders, which I admire! The young children react very enthusiastically, lots of positive energy everwhere, just it works!😍
However, this lesson about animal groups is worth seeing as well!!👏
And I would like to know what do you enjoy more? Playful lessons with young children or more educated ones with older ones?
Thank you for sharing all your videos, you don' t know how you help! 🍀
Thank you! I want my students to actually learn stuff, not just play games in class, so I strive to make my lessons fun yet educational. Lessons with the first graders are more playful because they have very short attention spans and need to build their vocabulary. You can't build a house without a few bricks. :))
I am excited about amazing methods of teaching!!! Keep on working with the same enthusiasm!!! You are doing a great job!!!
Kind of upsetting not having seen "the sleeping elephant game"😒
But I completely agree you've made the right decision in the case...

I am a teacher too. I want to ask about one little thing. Who prepared the photos on the screen. Did you do that yourself or do you usually get a CD as a part of the curriculum? I teach many grades from grade one to seven. I can't imagine preparing all these number of slides for tens of lessons around the year for each class
I prepared all the lessons for Grade 4. I also created a primary school curriculum for ESL teachers. I only teach one grade so it wasn't too hard. :)
@@Teacher-Val Thanks for your quick reply. May I ask you one more question? Do you use Powerpoint app to design these slides?
@@tham1010 Yes, I use Microsoft PowerPoint to create my lessons. I usually get illustrations from Pixabay.com.
great inspiring teaching
@Teacher Val. What program / platform / method do you use to link the question mark to the pop quiz?
I use Microsoft PowerPoint to create all my lessons. If you want to move back and forth between specific slides in your presentation, you must use hyperlinks. Watch this tutorial to learn how to add them to the slides:

I get too tired to plan what i will cover in the next class. How do you handle, how many classes do you have and which program do you use for creating presentation?
Hi Ebru! It's nice to meet you. I have 14 classes/week in Grade 4. It takes me 4-5 hours to make a presentation. I use Microsoft PowerPoint. I'm working on a way to share my presentations. I hope they will be available for download soon. I just need to figure out the technical side of things.

How u manage lesson for a high class students? If u may take it pls share us
I don't teach high school students but basic rules apply: 1) maintain routines and rules, 2) vary the approach and activities, 3) set boundaries and keep them, 4) have face-to-face time with the naughty students to understand what is causing misbehavior, 5) try the point and star system (Divide your class into two groups. Reward positive behavior and correct answers with points. Give a star to the winning team at the end of the class. The team that collects the most stars by the end of the term wins. Give this team 5 extra points for their final exam score.)
Hello! Sir,
Hope you are doing well. You're videos very useful for the management of time and easy learning language. I am also an English teacher in Shenzhen. Could you give me idea how to teach one kid? the kid age is 5 years.
I'd start with the alphabet and simple vocabulary words. :)
@@Teacher-Val thank you very much
Hello Sir .I like your videos . Can you please give us more details about the first classroom management concerning points and stars.
Teams get points for every correctly answered question, good efforts, and good behavior. At the end of the class, the winning team gets a star. At the end of the term, the team with the most stars gets 5 extra points to their final exam score. :)
If someone misbehaves, I erase a point from their team and give it my myself. This way they can clearly see how many points they lose due to misbehavior.
Good morning, Teacher Val! Your lessons are wonderful. Can you share with me, where I can find these interesting books.
Thank you very much! I think you can buy these books only in China. Most books are very simple so I enhance them to meet the students' needs. I teach each book in 2-3 lessons. Hi Tatyana! I am sorry I am not replying in Russian but I don't have a Russian keyboard layout on my computer. Here are the answers to your questions:
1) No, my students did not read this book (Animal Groups) before the class.
2) Students do not have this book because I made this lesson all by myself. It is available in my store on Teachers Pay Teachers. Look for Teacher Val.
3) Students use Yilin Oxford English as the main textbook.
4) I teach ESL through storybooks so I don't teach grammar separately, only in context.
Hope this helps!
