- Was an AERO disc brake bike the best bike to bring to the USA? Complete with integrated everything and deep section wheels, this would not have been my first choice a few years back.

This format is rad- No marketing sheet talking points, just a chat about the bike, the setup and how it feels. Bravo.
agreed 👍
Loved your review of the 40/44’s … exactly the same with no BS … and without the typos of my video 😂
@@ChrisMillerCycling haha, didn't even notice the typos. I did however notice the mallet holding up the bike; I know the Central Valley can be gangster, best to be prepared.
I’ve been riding a Chapter 2 Tere for almost 5 years and never once needed to look at other bikes. It’s perfect for the rides I do.
May I ask what features of this bike you are fond of? just curious about it
Couple of quick notes 1. 548mm effective top tube 2. 175cm is actually 5"9 and 3.speed comparison, the 2023 bike is one the left.
Hi Christopher ! 👋 So Tyler took you for a ride ha ha ha 😅 you were thinking when is this going to end 😢 lmfaooo00 😂🤣😆 Hillary didn't make it any easier
I meann...... you diid push 21 watts more this year .. for AVERAGE. That's huge.
Brother, don't deny yourself those two inches!
@@8rk yeah he learned how to train . If you make it less complicated it makes it easier
Thank goodness you clarified thought I was shorter than I actually am!
Love this format Chris. Excited to see more footage on the bike from your trip
Great review of the bike and wheels. I did enjoy it and would be glad if you would continue with this style of videos 👏👍
Great video Chris, enjoyed the more casual look at the combo + the nuance you brought to the wheel tire combo!
Loved this style of video mate. Good amount of spec information but more importantly plenty of detail of how it feels/rides. Definitely appreciate your opinion on ride feel because of your experience
Very useful way to present this information Chris... no fluff, just what your experience is. Like it...
Brilliant chat through Chris. Really enjoyed the style and would love to see plenty more 👌👍
Enjoyed this very much Chris, more please.
Great format Chris. Honest and no frills. I like it.
Chris, great video. I really enjoy hearing your take on equipment. I really appreciate the more organic feel you have to these, especially when you take your time with the product and actually use it for a while. To me it feels more genuine. Keep it up and do them when you are ready. Yours have your own unique feel to them that I very much enjoy that separates it from the likes of Cam Nicolls and David Authur (which are great too). Watching the evolution of your channel and your take on cycling has been great. I look forward to the next video.
Hey Chris, great vid. That format of review/comparison/chat is great. Would welcome more of them 👍
This was really well done Chris!
Love this type of content. This video, felt very genuine and informative.
Great job.
I would have like a bit more information on the frame. Why is the geometry special.
I was waiting for the bike chat (review) and I absolutely loved this format. I have been seriously considering a Chapter 2 frame for my next bike (local shop works with them) and this was great to see. Could you give a bit more details on the handlebar adapters?
Great format. Love all the details being included and just spending time on things that matter and framing why that is eg wider internal rim width.
Also love the Nero wrap
Awesome, thank you!
Been running GP5000s for about 6 months now and love them. Never had an issue getting them to seat or on the rim.
Keep these up as you get time. VERY helpful for me as a novice road rider shopping for an entire new bike.
These are the type of bikes that experienced riders like us wouldnt buy if we had to spend our own money though lol.
They are heavy, PITA to maintain and WAY over priced.
Hey Chris, enjoyed this type of video for sure.
Thanks for the tip on the rear light mount. I'll be buying one.
Great bunch of guys doing them. And I must say, the quality of the 3d print is very good.
Awesome chat mate. Lots of good info. Wonderful background. Need to ride there.
From America here, loved the scenery, that was some great footage. I watch a lot of reviews, don't believe I've seen one go into the detail you did with the Strava readouts. I'm always left wondering how long they've had the bike, you answered that. Great video, love the creative graphics on the bike.
It's been a pleasure riding with you Chris. Thanks for making our insanely hot area look so good. Hope to see you back again when I'm further down the road to regaining my fitness.
Awesome to see you guys as well. Really looking forward to coming back … climb to Kaiser 2024?
Just adding another voice to what has been said by others above, a great video, informative content, A1 presentation and something that [we] riders can appreciate. The Bunny Hop wrap (on both your bikes), together with the SYD icons inspired kit is awesome and has me contemplating doing the same to one of my bikes. Well done!
Much appreciated!
Love this new content keep them coming
Good to see you doing a review again. You have a good take on these bikes.
More to come!
Excellent video, good balance of technical and real life relevance.
👍🏽
I loved the format of the presentation and that it was based on a significant amount of riding across a lot of different conditions and types of rides. I also appreciate the fact that while there was some vendor contribution, this was not a paid promotion. To me that is a significant difference.
Thanks for that comment, I wasn’t sure whether to use the “paid partnership” button here, but like you said, I stayed away from the normal review things like “stiffer, faster, more compliant”, so thought it was ok not to.
That said, I think it’s an interesting show topic for the Nero show.
More of these please!
Good review and happy you had a great time in California.
The graphics on the bike and your nero kit 😍Looking great Chris enjoyed the video
Glad you enjoyed it
Perfect way to evaluate a bike. Instead of giving an end all be all review, since everyone has unique characteristics that makes their responses to bikes different, it’s nice just to hear how and why you run your setup. And I think it’s super cool that Chapter 2 and Reserve were willing to share their products so that you could ride.
But I have a question…did you beat Jeff in his own parking lot crit?🤔🤔🤔
Inquiring minds wanna know😂
Super enjoyable video for any cycling lover!
I ordered the farsports handlbears in 38x120 too a few weeks ago! Can't wait for them to arrive
Nice review. That scenery looks amazing. 🎉
Loved it. Great information, from someone with clear experience 👍🏻
Great video Chris. A good palette cleanser between the long podcast format.
Personally I’d like to know how big those tyres sat at on the reserve rims and what the clearance was like on the frame. If you already mentioned it and I missed it then I apologise.
Chris - that content/presentation was good. Fast, yet informative.
Tadej asks if he can have his shorts back….
Great vid... the most valuable feedback to folks buying kit is the ride feel, performance and support in case of issue.. the schill reviewers discussing spec only add zero value... nice work..
Great format on this one.
Love this content mate 👍
Would love more videos like this one!
nice video chris. also sick bike, wheel and everything else
You look great on your bike. Very smooth, bro!
Great job in telling how it is without the BS.
Nice one Chris.
Cheers
Thanks 👍
Excellent content 🔥👏🏼
Really liked to know all the specs and set-up talk.
What a great set-up.
This bike does it all
Loved the video totally different from your norm and it works holds interest throughout the video.
Great video! Do more of it.
I rate this format, don't change it
David Arthur is it you?
Nah can‘t be those shoes are way to nice and clean…
Awesome camera work 😍
175cm is very nearly 5ft9. Great content from your holiday👍
Is Tyler still running 1x
IMHO Chris Is the best there is on cycling CZcams. Guy is underrated as shite
Great video. I am one for similar content in the future, Question for you: Why did you not go for a small and then a 130 stem length? Reach would be about the same and a lower stack (24 mm). You should then have a bike that's a bit lighter and easier to control, add spacers if you need to be higher(unless you want the slammed look). Heard it always stated that if you fall between two frame sizes and have no flexibility issues choose the smaller frame.
This is a great addition to the channel. Keep them coming, and give us an update on your gravel setup for the Nov race 🤟
Been plenty of bike reviews on the channel in the past (before the Nero Show)
I happens to have bought a Farsports F1 as well, in the same 380x120 size as yours. Bought it on Panda Podium for 40% off since its being replaced by the f1s. Very happy with it!
I enjoyed this content I like it when you mix it up!!
Glad to hear it!
Great stuff. Love the commentary based on "real" riding
Glad you enjoyed it
C2 should invite you for a factory tour, show us how C2 designs the frames and why C2 makes the geometry of C2 frames so unique.
Yes. Very good do more 👊
Sexy bike Chris, I absolutely love to ride those roads you were on, nothing like California riding for sure😊
Great video format. I liked this
Awesome, thank you!
@@ChrisMillerCycling not a problem, keep up the great work (my reply to your reply might also help manipulate the YT algo in your favour 😉)
Chris, I guessed this wasn’t a full on review because you didn’t do a Dave Arthur squat, next to the bike ;) Really interesting the av speed difference, there must be something going on unless you were riding with a constant hurricane tailwind this year!
Don’t forget Dave Arthur peanut butter in your mouth speech pattern
I dig the format! You don't need music for the whole video though :)
Can't remember if you ever rode the C2 Rere. If you have, which do you like better?
Been loving the content since year 1 keep up the hard work.
enjoyed the style or review a lot
Gorgeous bike. Sweet and to the point. I like how you presented the bike - heres this or that and why - just as I like how you don’t dilly dally in your chat show. Bikes a keeper.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice review Chris! Loved the no bullshit
Really enjoyed the vid
7.71kg with pedals bottle cages for a 1120g frame is impressive. Also given the 53/63mm wheels.
Awesome content. Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
hmm, no socks. Will we be getting tri stuff too? kidding, 😜thumbs up, thanks. Enjoyed
Love the air max's Chris !
😉
Chris enjoyed your ride & bike info
Glad you enjoyed it
Love this content Chris.. great info 😊😃👍🚴🏻🥇Pete
Glad you enjoyed it
Great content. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I live in Central Valley CA, didn’t know you visited!
Great video 🔥
Glad you enjoyed
Would love to see a comparison between your Bianchi Oltre XR4 Campy SR mechanical rim brake vs the Chapter 2 w/ Reserve wheels.
great suggestion
thanks Chris.
been thinking of getting some reserve 40/44 for my endurace bike. I think that will jus about make that bike prefect for me. I don't race and I like long, comfortable ,slow to medium tempo rides on most days. thx for the info Chris !
If you're heavy enough, take deeper, unless you're constantly climbing ;)
Yeh I would lean towards the deeper as well. Not much of a weigh difference and you’ll appreciate the speed on the flats
I said goodbye to my Pinnarello which was black , white and blue . My osteoarthritis cannot tolerate the road buzz so with friends , we formed a mtb road setup class between us . We cannot be categorised because of this .
Yeah!!! This is what i like!! 👍👍👍 have often wondered about reserve. How stiff are they?
Super stiff, certainly enough for my 900w sprint 😂
Yes Chris good content enjoyed review.
Glad you enjoyed it
The way you said “External Nipples” 😂 All on board for these Slow Content’ ‘Chats’. Your thoughts are valuable & the disclaimers provide all the transparency we need ✌️Great stuff Chris
Hey Chris, I have had the Toa for almost two years now. I love the frame and the feel of it, thinking of also getting a Koko frame . I know you have ridden both, what are your thoughts? Is it worth swapping to the Koko? Or is the Toa better overall? Cheers
Love the little sledgehammer holding the bike up. 😂
HAHA!! The problems I had filming that bit is a video in itself
Perfect ❤. We’ll done.
Do more reviews like this
Chris, pls can you and Jesse do a guide to racing bikes in Sydney/NSW for people looking to get into racing, or people visiting the state/country? Cheers
That’s a very nice looking bike
Nice bike and I like the wrap. Good choice with sapims. Make for a more compliant ride (+ tyres of course). 175cm is nearly 5ft9 btw ;)
😉
Chris/Jessie - possibly will be passing through Sydney next March and wondering whether it's worth traveling with my bike from Europe or just renting locally. Can you recommend any rental shops with decent road bikes with electronic gearing? I did a search and only found places charging a bomb at $200+ per day (basically double the prices in Europe).
Frame looks good
I did a bit of Frankensteining and put a 38t inner ring from a 9000 "52/38" spec on with my 54t chainring. Technically out of spec and people on the internet say that the chainrings will be further apart, but practically I've not noticed anything. Best of both worlds for cruising up and flying down hills
I’d expect the closer the gap the better the shifting would be, I thought the wider gap is the issue. (52/34 etc)
@@RyonBeachner54-38t is wider gap though it should be a 40?
@@jakethesnake1976 54/38 is a 16t difference.
52/34 is a 18t difference.
A 54/38 should actually shift just as easily as the shimano approved 50/34
Are you happy with the zero float cleats mate? Much difference?
where did you get the decal on the frame. I wasn't sure if that was a paint design or decals either way the frame design is very cool. I would love to learn more.
The dacal was a custom bike wrap from Bunnyhop cycling.
Thoughts on the KOKO vs TOA?
You like the TIME pedals? I’m hard pressed to find many reviews of them on CZcams
