I only recently discovered Zakk and was blown away by his performance of the national anthem. The thing is, musicians must be given freedom to interpret music as the creative force moves them. Zakk's was passionate and well-done. Kudos to the man!

I'm selftaught and I've listened to thousands of singers, guitarists and composers over the years and developed my own style. I'm working as a semi-professional musician. If someone says that Zakk sucks means that the person doesn't know shit or he just want's attention. Ignore such bullshit. Cheers everyone.

Believe, when I first heard McLaughlin, I was 13 in 1973 and I didn't understand it, but I listened to it, because it was different and actually was difficult to even comprehend what the heck they were doing, it didn't make sense to me. It took literally listening to the first album about 3000 times before I REALLY understood that music. That stuff is internal to me and even 40 years later I can enjoy listening to it whether or not I can even play like the record.
What made Hendrix so Good was the fact that he was a helluva Producer and innovator. Page was a great producer, Townsend a Great Composer, Clapton a Great Guitarist and Beck didn't give a damn!
