- We continue our challenging track on the Collegiate West section of the Colorado Trail.Check out part 1 of this hike! The 90 mile, high altitude section of the CT and the Continental Divide Trail pressed Chuck and I to our limits. It was beautiful, but an ass kicker. Hope Pass, Lake Anne Pass, numerous other points were still covered in mid-July snow. Chuck and I get separated which causes some worries.

Great job! Let's go get it!
Tough luck about your garmin. Great hike!
Beautiful part of the CT! Thank you for taking us along. Feels like I have some sort of a chance to explore these gorgeous trails trough the mountains that we don't have here. Really appreciate that!
Great video! Thanks for showing us the trails. Did you guys see any bears?
No. We did get warned by another hiker one was 1/4 mile up the trail from our campsite one night.
That sucks you lost/forgot your inreach. I see a review of the new inreach 2.0 coming.
Enjoying your channel and definitely appreciate the effort you put into publishing your content. Question - how has your experience been with the BRS stove? Deciding between that and the MSR Pocket Rocket for an upcoming Isle Royale solo trip. I'm just going to be boiling water.
BRS works fine. No issues. Smaller and cheaper than pocket rocket. I am also going to be soloing IR soon! 😄
@@MidwestBackpacker, thanks - I'm on trail the week of Aug 28th so maybe I'll see you there.
@@jdhayes i will be there a bit later than you, but have fun.
Well done guys !!
At 8:08 Chuck is back!!! Together again!! Still not feelin good 🤢. But, beautiful sights for the eyes on the trail! Enjoy the journey. Joy S from Northern Indiana
I am just wondering did you have any days before your hike to climatize? If so how many. To be honest compared to what I am used to those trails look super smooth and fast. That is something I am really looking forward to. The thin air not so much. Did you ever try Boost? It’s H2O in a can. I use it when I ski out west and to be honest I am not sure if it works but we continue to use it. I am headed to Colorado the end of February for skiing and then back out the end of August to hike. I am driving out in August because I will be taking my dog, it’s about 1,900 miles. That moose would have freaked me out. They can be a bit crazy. Take care
We are usually there less than 24 hours before starting. Hike slow and less miles the first couple days and you should be fine, but it definitely is more difficult right away. Look to get a prescription for altitude, it helps me.
@@MidwestBackpacker Thanks for the information. I am going out the end of February for a ski trip and I will give that product a try. Thanks so much.
I'm surprised to see Chuck eating in his tent. I thought that was bad practice for avoiding bears.
This may be true but people eat in their tents and often they sleep with their food. People do all kinds of things when they’re very tired. That is just how it is.
Wow! Almost at 10K subscribers! I think I subscribed at about 6K. Any plans for when you reach that milestone? A montage video of all your previous adventures?
Thanks. Honestly, maybe a little break. 😀
Congratulations on completing the entire Colorado Trail!! Great accomplishment!! Love all the videos you do and sharing of your adventures!! That’s to bad about losing your garmin Rest up and recharge, thank you!
Did you every get your inreach back? What do you think happened for it to fall off?
I took it off while taking a break since I was only turning it on during breaks to save power and I forgot to reattach it. Oops. 🤦♂️
Oof. Sorry you lost your InReach. I hope you recover it.
Don't your candy bars get melted and messy in the summer?
Sometimes!they melt. Certain candy bars are easier to eat when warm.
