    apple really has made it so much harder to do basic repairs. you shouldnt have to remove nearly everything from the phone to fix the charging port

      Yeah, I agree with you, they do it so you have to pay for the repairs, I still would rather fix myself always have and always will, lol

      Its because they know that the charging port is usually the first thing to start failing which makes the average person either upgrade, buy another apple product like the mag charger, or send it to apple for fixing while charging you $200+ for repairs when all it really needed was to be cleaned out.

    Thanks a bunch, Oli. Had one to do this morning and iFix didn't have a guide for the charge flex (or logic board for that matter). Followed to a T and done in less than 20 minutes. Invaluable. Keep up the good fight my friend.

    Awesome, I have watched tons of charging port replacement videos, you are the only one that put a new waterproof seal in.

      I don’t know why people don’t do this. It is 50p for a seal 🤦🏻‍♂️

    I don’t recommend you closing the phone till you try it out while the phone is still open (last step).. if for whatever reason it didn’t work you will have to heat up the phone again and start all over

    Hey, where did you purchase the new charging port module and adhesive seal? Would you please link these parts in your description in the future (if it is not a wholesale agreement you have)

      P.S good video, very clear. I will be attempting it. The only part I am a little unclear on is the microphone positioning. It looks as though it is angled and doesn’t sit cleanly like the rest of the parts but I guess it will come to me when I try it. Maybe a closer frame in the video would explain better. That’s being nit picky.

    ive taken the charge port out with out removing the logic board. it comes out pretty easly. i wish apple would just make a phone is one or two types of screws instead of 10

    Sorry, can you please answer this question: when you mentioned the boot loop at 7:35, I can’t tell what you said to make sure we get. A “genuine ‘pulled’ part”? What does that mean?
    Thanks for the awesome tutorial!

    • @griffog2001
      @griffog2001 Před rokem +1

      That means it's a genuine part from another iPhone. Many companies will sell 'pulled' parts cannibalised from iPhones.

    I replaced my battery charging port and my screen, turned my screen on before putting screen back, it worked and charged, so I turned it off and started to put my screen in, and when I was done it did not want to turn on, but when I plug in charger it makes a charging sound

      The design is good, it’s very rare that these parts will wear out. Most failure in my opinion is from accidental/user damage
