I could see either of the 8s (Bruno/mount) drifting out wide. for example Antony loves to cut in. Once that happens the right sided 8 could drift out to the right wing

Mount would be a cracking signing for United. Whilst he can play as a 10 he said himself he sees himself as a number 8 & I agree. He can not only CONTROL games he's got great energy presses well great stamina great range of passing & is progressive. His stats are actually pretty decent tbh. Still only 24 & Ten Hag did try to sign Mount when he was manager of Ajax. I've no idea why so many folk are against us signing Mount. He'll began upgrade on Fred & Sabitzer. Isn't that what we want improvement to our squad???

If the price is right, I'd take Mount as a rotation option for Eriksen. I'd also look at Maddison as a rotation option for Bruno. United have a decent first 11 (minus a striker) but the bench is really lacking in quality. We've got one impact player from the bench and he's a teenager, still learning his trade. We need more.

Mason Mount would be a good signing for Man United for around 45 mil but not for 60-70 mil. You have other better options for that price. Man United also need to think 4-5 transfer windows ahead in their recruitment and be better at scouting talents. Moisés Caicedo was actually on Man United radar but Brighton picked him up for almost nothing. Eintracht Frankfurt signed Swedish teenager Hugo Larsson on Monday , which described the transfer as "the biggest player deal a Swedish club has ever made.” Hugo Larsson have already played in the swedish topflight for Malmo and in the Europa league and have been capped one time for Sweden. Hugo Larsson turned down several big clubs like Athletico Madrid who put in a 20 mil bid.
In terms of his role on the pitch, mount in my opinion is similiar to gavi, a player suited for a 3 man midfield (preferably in a 4-3-3), with him being the most offensive of the 3. They have similar builds, both are good, aggressive pressers of the ball, good close control and dribbling, decent passing, but both just lack the final product (finish & final pass) and vision (i notice both players sometimes get tunnel vision, should keep their head up and look for passing options more often/notice the space they have)
Only thing he’s has better than Eriksen is everything in the athletic and physical department
and that is exactly what the midfield is lacking... the only midfield backups we have with those traits are fred and mctominay, who are awful technically

Mount would be playing Gravenberch's role at Ajax in 2020/2021 and hes not a 6/8 hybrid (more of just an 8). I think getting a starting 8 is more important than a backup 6 for Casemiro. Getting Mount should be 3rd priority behind a Striker and a Keeper.

He is a Midfielder that plays further up the field. We would get overrun in the Midfield with a midfield of Bruno Mount and Casemero. We need that press resistant ball carrier that tackles. We need some steel in the Midfield particularly when we play the big teams. Mount is fine against the shit teams but he won't help is win the Midfield battle against the strong teams

I just think with the players we have - eg Bruno, Rashford, Fred and even Casemiro to an extent etc. We don't have enough players there who are just good at taking and keeping possession in difficult positions. All our players can be wasteful in possession . He hides just as much as Mctominay when trying to progress the ball up the pitch.

Yes, Mason Mount at United. He is a perfect player for ETH system, good on the ball, brave enough to receive the ball from the defence and turn the oppositions players to start attacks, good at winning the ball back with loads of energy, will press all game. He can also play anywhere in the midfield, also at right wing. It's a no brainer!!!
Towards the end you mentioned something important,United need a hybrid 6/8 and that player isn't Mount which is why I think majority of the fans are against the signing. Caicedo/Rice/ Kone

You could get Caqueret and Enzo Lee Fee together for £55m which is the opening bid for Mason Mount. I would sooner have Caqueret to start as the 8 and use Enzo as a squad player that covers whenever a Midfielder needs a break. Enzo can cover midfield and wing so is a perfect bench player.

Mount is a good player and anyone who says otherwise is mental. But I do agree he wouldn’t be the best option, but I also trust Ten Haag judgement on this.
I personally would rather get Maddison over Mount if United are playing a system with two hybrid 8s but his injury record is questionable. But this type of midfielder lets me wonder what Ten Haag will do with Wan Bissaka this summer because the defenders would be solely responsible for build up with two hybrid 8s. I could see a scenario where United using player sales go all out for Timber, Diogo Costa and another CB on the cheap. Having Timber play RB and CB when needed but I can understand selling AWB for another CB and having Timber as the RB, although losing AWB would be a big concern.

Park cost about 5M and Mount would cost 10x more. Don’t even compare them. And again British media always overhypes players with British passport. Look at Oxlade Chamberlain, Walcott, Wright-Phillips, etc. with the price tag plus British tax, better to find better value across Europe or South America. If man utd can get mount they should. At 24 he is really good. High work rate and skilled and technical player. At 40mil he should be gettable. An addition of a cdm should be also very necessary. Patino did quite well at blackpool as cdm since ugarte is claimed to be 60mil. Patino had very good ball progression and dribbling as well as press resistance and tackling. Both will not cost a fortune to get for man utd. Zeki as a striker instead of 100 plus mil for Kane or osimhen. Mantilla Colombian centre back and bring greenwood back.
Man utd need to look at long-term players. Kane is desirable of any team but at 30yrs that's just a quick expensive fix that they may need to fix again soon. Sorloth can be a good option but cheap compared to the 100mil players yet man utd need players else where.

Like you, I don't think we need to sign Mount. What we need more is a CDM who can play CM role and Mount is clearly not that man. Besides, we need a DM/CM, ST, CB. I don't particularly think we will have enough funds to spare to sign an extra attacking midfielder in the summer.
Bruno is going to want to play every game so don't see where Mount fits in. We need a Caicedo or a De Jong. Before even signing a CM we need a Striker.

Would you swap McTominay for Mount? Maybe, if they were a similar price, you'd think Mount is a bit younger and technically more skilled, he could fit in better with the system. However, it's not a terribly exciting transfer, is it. We need vastly better midfielders and most don't seem to think Mount is that. If they end up selling McTominay for £10m then have to pay £50m for mount, it looks like terrible business, and they will probably need to be smart about how they're spending. There are other options, in emergency, when Eriksen was out, but Casemiro out... We're in big trouble. After a striker, the DM position would be priority for me.
When Bruno is out were far worse than without casemiro. Without Bruno we create nothing right now whereas we can manage a few games without casemiro
Whatever it is, please dont bring this season stats as a consideration. Like our player in their worst club season, of course all the things have gone so bad. For me personally, if ten haag agree, it just about the price. Get him in the right price, coz he just has one year left.
United are making the same mistake they made with Van de Beek, buying a player that is not a huge need because they think is some good oportunity. Mount is a great player, but he is not the type of player we are in need at the moment.
He simply isn't an ideal fit and the price is ridiculous. We need a ball carrying number 8 that can tackle not a number 10. We already have Bruno as the advanced midfielder. What a waste of money.
You do realize that Ten Hag is looking for an advanced eight that can score goals that's why hes looking at Mount and Rabiot. We are missing goals from midfield and Ten Hag is trying to address that.

Mason Mount is totally unnecessary, because if you are going to play as a cam and be a backup for Bruno, it would be better to sign James Maddison, who will be very cheap because he will be entering the last year of his contract and besides the fact that Leicester have been relegated. If you are going to play as cm, it would be better to hire Samuele Ricci from Torino, who despite being a similar regista to Pirlo, but he also plays the role of cm and is also cheap.
I think people forget we have van de beek… when he’s at his best he’s better than most. We have the manager that knew how to get the best out of him, not because he wasn’t given a proper chance doesn’t mean he’s a flop. If he stays fit he can be one of the best in the league under ten hag.

If he's a squad option, its about cost tho isn't it.. He is not a great passer, or tackler. Hes not a good 10, compared to Bruno, he can't cover for Casemiro, he's jsut a bit more defensive than an ageing Eriksen. 10 has some slightly odd views on midfield (viz de jong, eriksen, bruno as an ambition), so I'm not surprised by this but I don't think he'll work with Bruno and Eriksen - theres no steel. He is not worth the £70m plus being demanded. Not by a long chalk.
He’s definitely a great passer and plays an incredibly unique role. It’s not just the defensive improvement on Eriksen, he’s also more of a goal scoring threat, has better movement around the box and down the channels and is the perfect counter pressing midfielder.
@@AtlantisFootball He is an M.U.F.C. player now, according to Fabrizio Romano. I hope for him to defensively help Casemiro more than Eriksen. If we can get S. Ricci or Manuel Ugarte Ribero our central midfield will be sorted for years.

Eriksen is extremely limited. Mount can do much more in other areas which makes him an upgrade

How his mindset is always looking forward, looking to move the ball up the pitch quickly. Any limitations he has are due to age and a lack pace. When it comes to vision and passing Mount has a ways to go, still, while Ericksen has proved his mettle all over the world.

For a central midfielder he is a pretty good ball carrier, better than both Fernandes and Eriksen and whilst he isn’t often in those deeper build up areas I think he has the ability to adapt to that role

Only when we play midtable teams. Casemro wont be able to handle the pressure alone in big games. Teams like city aresenal and liverpool will run over our midfield if casemiro is the only one with defencive abilities.
