I'm spending 3 last weeks with my grandchildren, taking them camping and we're going to wade in creeks, build a fort and I'm going to teach them about some of the healing plants I so loved to identify and photograph and teach them to build a fire. I'm dying and they do not know, but I taught them all that I could and I was a good nana and maybe they'll think back on all, the many adventures we had and remember me with a smile.

I had a best friend for over fifty years. If we didn't see each other during the day, we talked on the phone every day. He was big into feeding the birds. He had two or three feeders in his yard. When he died of cancer, we had a beautiful red cardinal show up every morning and set on our windowsill and peck at the glass. It did this for over two years before it ended. My wife and I don't feed the birds. True story

I often go to this song at the loss of a loved one especially around 911. Just lost a 7 year old granddaughter who had what we all thought was a manageable heart defect. But she got sick & heart stopped and an Angel died to be an Angel above . Again I sought Sarah’s song nothing comes close

My sister passed 5 days ago. It was sudden and unexpected. The day before, she was at our house getting her new phone in the mail, and she was telling us this funny story about how she barked like a dog at the people who robbed her. I can hear her voice, it's so fresh in my mind yet it also feels like an eternity ago. She was always there and would drop anything if you needed her. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that she's gone.
