Haunting, mysterious and another sonorous masterpiece Damian. Sure wish I could make my bass sing like you do with your e-bow. And thank you so much for foregoing the compression. We miss so much nowadays with the high levels of bypass filtering that people barely know what real sound is anymore. Beautiful!

Hi! I'm a bass player too and i've practiced with the Ebow and I was wondering what are your settings to make it sound good? Do you roll off your pick ups a bit? Do you play with the Bridge pick up only? Do you play far from the pick ups? Because when I tried the ebow, I always had that overdriven sound and it doesn't sound as clean as your tone. It would be very helpful! Oh and very nice solo by the way! :)

That's an awesome piece of music! I tried this on my Schecter 4 string fretless and couldn't get a single tone. It's got EMG pickups but I don't think that would matter? Any suggestions?
Thank you! I’m not sure exactly what to suggest, but I would start with a good setup (low action for maximum mwah), new SS round wound strings, favor the bridge pickup, etc. Hope that helps!
Very nice. Tomorrow I am gonna try it out. I have an ebow and use it mainly on my lap steel guitar. I will have to try it out on my bass. I am wondering still why you are calling your bass a fretless, I see frets! Anyhow, a big thumbs up, sounds so relaxing!
Thanks. It’s a lined fretless, which means it has wood inlays at the fret positions to help with intonation.
Ohhh, now that makes a lot of sense! I'm about to build a electric contra upright bass and plan on doing the same thing. I wont be putting lines across, just little dots to mark the locations. I'm a violin maker, and make all sorts of instruments! You should hear the ebow on a lap steel guitar, its better than picking one! I might be modifying my ebow and add an Arduino microcontroller and be able to modulate the coils in the eBow an infinite number of ways. I'm also a computer programmer and electrical engineer, so doing a mod is childs play. There is so much more that the ebow could do with it attached to a computer! Whats really fun is to go from the instrument into my RP100a guitar effects pedal, man talking about wild sounds, this is it. Anyhow, your song is so relaxing to listen to, and I really enjoyed it, so pretty sounding! Great job BroSki... jam on friend!!!

I use my ebow on bass, guitar, and mainly my lap steel guitar. Anything with metal strings you can use it on, and it sounds great once you learn what to do!

How did you get your ebow to work on bass?? Tried it before but only worked on electric 😔
Michael Gallagher The ebow will only work on certain strings, they have to have a magnetic core for use with magnetic pick ups.

Those are inlaid in the fretboard. Frets are not that narrow.
