  • This is how I've watered some of my lawn for the last two tears. It's just a 1hp Harbor Freight sprinkler pump with two water hoses, two sprinklers, some pvc pipe and a foot valve with a sock over it. I have a long extension cord connected from it to a surge protector so I can turn it on from the patio because it stays down by the lake under a plastic bin. I know there are tons of ways this could have been improved upon, but I used what I had with the least amount of materials possible and it has worked for two years. #diylawncare #freewater

I love the idea that you use socks to filter mud. That is my biggest problem.

Well done! Thank you for taking the time to shoot and edit video and explain so well.
Is that "tractor" sprinkler coming from another source such as a well or public water?
Would this pump power that tractor sprinkler

Awesome setup! How long do you normally run the sprinklers each time?

@ladiesinyard can you tell me how you initially got this pump primed please? 🥺 I've got a inch intake hose direct to pump, everbilt 1inch foot valve at end it doesn't seem to suck any water. I've added water to the pump itself via the intake plug but it just pumps that water out and won't suck from hose. Any help would be appreciated 😊. Or maybe you can point me to video that shows how to prime - thank you 🙏

Thanks for making this video I'm having a house built the pond is about 70 feet away from the house think I could keep the pump at the house and run the inlet pipe 70 feet to the waters edge? Looking to also run 2 sprinklers

Do you think instead of a sprinkler I could hook up a pressure washer to this set up?

I haven’t watched yet but you need like 40 psi supply to the pressure washer, should say in the manual, if you can get that to the washer it provides the rest of tge pressure

I wouldn’t do that. They make a pump with a pressure tank all in one. I would use that instead. This pump is meant to always have flow and it’s not meant to build much pressure.

I have so many questions💁‍♀️ Is this a private lake? Is it spring fed? Love the video but not sure that's legal to do. I think you need a permit from the DNR. Can you imagine if everyone pumped the water out of the lakes to irrigate their lawns?
