This only being 2 seconds slower than the Nevera is kinda hilarious

Because EVs are at the point where no extra power can offset the weight penalty.. At this point, all that power is only good for drag racing.
porsche knows how to make cars go around a track fast whether that is an SUV or an EV they do it all
Being 12 second slow than less purpose built 911 GT3 with 510, THIS is hiliarious...
@@paveljanda8276 What? Surely you know lighter cars with better aero get better lap times, right? Having loads of HP and weighing over 2 tons isn't good for track performance lmao
For those as curious as me: From what i can see the SoC went from 100% to roughly 55%. With a net battery capacity of 97kWh this means an energy consumption of 43,65 kWh or 209,5 kWh/100km. Thats 10 times whats needed for everyday driving. I know that's irrelevant in this context but interesting nontheless.
It may not be as extreme for ICEs but you could easily go from 10L to 40L or more consumption in a 911 GT3 when you go for a timed attack. But obviously not tenfold.
Twice the consumption of a 20t electric bus! (100kwh/100km)
it is indeed very valuable information because it helps to estimate how many hot laps the car can survive. For a track that long and that suitable for very high speeds, two hot laps is not bad at all.
Heads up: The battery on the Turbo GT is actually 104,0kWh
When you floor the bugatti chiron and rev it to 7000 rpm it burns 160 L/100 km,and you cant go more than 10 minutes with it at its peak RPM
This is why I love Porsche
yeees

@@davidfujkk8018Battery pack weighs 621kg with cells that are around ~250-280 Wh/kg so a 400kg weight saving is not going to happen. Also most of the weight is coming from it being a luxury sedan, it is "only" really 2-300kg more heavy than competitors to begin with, and those have almost half the horsepower.
@@swecreations battery pack has 170 wh/kg in pack level energy density so imagine it with 400 wh/kg structural battery pack, with 105 kwh capacity it will weigh 262 kg in total, which is 360 kg weight reduction in comparison,
@@davidfujkk8018you gonna paste that into every comment?
@davidfujkk8018 SSBs are an option on the future, but catl will not be able to mass-produce them anytime soon:
1. SSBs are incredibly unsafe, thanks to the lithium anode, which can basically just strafe into the cathode and react with it, so it basically explodes.
2. SSBs are in it's current form wayyy to expensive, and that is nothing that will get better anytime soon, even if mass production, because of the high amount of lithium used in the cells. This makes SSBs not only high in cost, but also extremely damaging to the environment, and needs a lot of more safety in manufacturing.
3. SSBs have a short lifespan of just up to 200-500 cycles, which is way less than modern nmc or lfp cells
While SSBs are very interesting, they are not a savior battery like some display them at, take them with a grain of salt, there is no holy grail. Sodium-batteries are much more likely to go into production soon, due to their very cheap prices and not to bad energy density (a tad worse than nmc cells, but better than many lfp cells)
