- Join me as we explore cabin 4187 onboard the Marella Explorer. The cabin is located at the aft of the ship and we stayed in the cabin during a 90s theme cruise. The 90s cruise was fantastic and I'd highly recommend it! I was invited by Marella to join them on this cruise but all opinions are my own and Marella have no control over my content.
I am a big fan of inside cabins and this was one of my favourites. There was SO much storage room. Let me know if you've ever seen as many drawers in a cabin before... I certainly haven't!
The ship was right at the back of the ship so we could feel vibrations when the ship is pulling into port. I quite liked it because it woke me up when we were docking whereas I could normally sleep forever in inside cabins. That said if you are somebody who is sensitive to movement I would pick a cabin located more centrally.

Hi Emma not many folks know this but im an old (ish) git at 51 and remember! Marella Explorer going back to when it launched in the 90s was called galaxy and the tv series the cruise for the BBC was filmed on board on its inaugeral cruise which in turn lauched Jane McDonalds career from a cruise ship singer to where she is now! ..if you aaint seen the series i recomend you watch it as gives an idea of how cruises were then ect and galaxy was brand new and one of the big ships back then not like the MEGA liners we have now ....the cruise is avalable to watch on bbc i player at the moment ! 😘😉

I was on Explorer 2 last month, had an excellent stay on there. Crew were amazing too. I did the same with the tea bags lol took a couple of the ones I liked. Will definitely be booking again 😀

We were impressed by storage in our outside cabin too. Four doors of wardrobe space...though only one mirror ;) Big fan of the shower cubicle too, it was HUGE :)
Oh yes! Agreed. I was very impressed for how old the ship is... some newer ships are in much worse condition. :D
That's a really nice cabin. I like the mirror as it really makes it look bigger. It's great having the kettle there also. Even though you can order room service it's nice to have it there ready for when you want it.

That’s a massive cabin for a inside cabin. Great video as usual. Thank You. On this ship on 15th January 2023🙈🙈, we should have been on the discovery Boxing Day 2021 but because of covid restrictions we moved in on a year 👍👍
Hi Emma I've stayed in an inside cabin on the explorer I was traveling solo so had a double bed to myself,I'm going on the explorer again in April and have a outside cabin this time 😀

I shall be in a single inside (4083 - £50 extra to choose but there is nothing noisy to the side or above) exactly a year from now. 2nd to 16th October 2019 for the Aegean & Adriatic.
It will be my 1st Marella cruise. Really excited as the ship looks amazing for its age. Paid for the premium AI as I do like to try different Gins and a Mojito or 2 and not forgetting the coffee in the Coffee Port. At £7 extra per day I reckon it will be really great value.
360 days to go, not counting, honest haha

I was curious having watched a few of your Marella reviews and did a bit of research but apart from finding that they're considered mascots to this ship I couldn't find anything more.
Apparently they came with the ship when Marella bought it but what on earth were they doing there in the first place? Seems totally random

Hi Emma I have just come off the marella explorer today only a 3 day mini cruise which was nice to get away in these circumstances. We had booked a room with a balcony and unfortunately the patio door didn't open it took there staff till yesterday morning to resolve this so at least we could look out on our return to Southampton. I have done over 20 cruises over the years and this being a short break was nice but I must admit this is the worse food I've ever had I've done probably 15 cruises with tui over the years the food was not even luke warm even today I called the water and said it was cold he was as good as gold and touched the food and said it shouldn't have come out the kitchen i know there is a lot of people to deal with and they do there best but I must say the food was a total let down from what I've had in the past several people we spoke to said they had the same issues just not cooked. Bit sad to be honest it didn't spoil the break the shows were good and its still a friendly atmosphere on board but I wouldn't want to return to this ship in the future if this is the future of marella cruises I hope I'm wrong
