I swear that Ronn Lucas is one of the best ventriloquists in the business! His technique is PERFECT and his characters are both hilarious and unique. I also love it that each character's voice is totally unique.

when i was a kid my mum used to let me stay up late to watch it, as i had school in the morning and normally in bed for 8pm, this show was on channel 4 at 11pm....i loved it so much and at that age 8 years old, i used to believe scorch he was real :D im so happy that after all these years have gone by, my age now being 34 (26 years later) i found my show on youtube, over the moon to see this again :)
True fact: from February 28, 1992 - March 13, 1992 CBS ran a show about Scorch; in the show everyone thought he was a puppet, but he was really a real dragon, a fact known only by the family with whom he lived with. Only 6 episodes were produced, and only 3 ever aired.
It's 2k18 and he still is my favorite
Three things make this stand out. First, Lucas is an outstanding ventriloquist; that song is proof of that. Second, Scorch the character and Scorch the puppet are both terrific. And third, Lucas's material is really, really funny -- it even makes a jaded old guy like me laugh out loud. I've been a huge fan ever since I saw Ronn and Scorch on the Smothers Brothers back in the day. (Lucas also had a funny appearance on Night Court!)
Oh my gosh that was so impressive! And Scorch is so adorable, it reminds me of a jim henson muppet.

I LOVED THIS GUY! He's really good at throwing his voice and stuff and the puppet is so cute with his fingers crossed. I love how he makes him look down some times, etc. I wish I could've seen Dave's face when the puppet asked him what the fuck he was thinking. The leno joke was a funny way to kiss his ass too :P

Lucas did have his own tv show it was on a sat night in the early 90's (90-93 if i remember my childhood lol ) back when tv was gold with stuff like brian conley, bobby davro, You bet, big break all the great stuff back in the day!

@andyrooney11 i think for the most part, jeff dunham is funnier, but i agree completely that the others deserve to be in the spotlight more. They're alot more /talented/.

@andyrooney11 Jeff dunhams show got the axe. I love Ron Lucas, I feel he is a better ventriloquist than Jeff Dunham. I feel Dunham needs to practice more, especially his 'n's. Still think he is a funny guy tho. But I have fond memories of seeing Ron Lucas' TV show as a kid. Very funny stuff.

@andyrooney11 I think Jeff Dunham is good, but i agree that there are more phenomenal ventriloquists, it's gotta be incredibly hard to do. I think this is hilarious!
why cant i get sound on this video?
it could be you do not have a stereo system..
I get sound but only out of the right channel (right speaker)If you do not have stereo then you are using the left channel for sound (non stereo systems default to the left channel even if you have two speakers attached and your system sends signal to both speakers then the right channel is non existent and the left channel comes out of both left and right speakers) check to see if you can get stereo (left and right channels) I am not sure if any of that made any sense.. Note that the "signal channels" and your speakers are two different things..

@andyrooney11 Ron Lucas did have a show here in england in the early to mid 90s it was a kids show with scortch and many other puppets but i agree he should have a adult show cos yes he was funny as a kid show host but puppets being rude is just the funnier

Jeff Dunham may not be as good a Ventriloquist as some others, but he is funnier than pretty much any other Ventriloquist. It's Comedy Central, not "Convincing Illusion Central"
Chuck is the only puppet that isn't the same voice. Scorch and Buffalo Billy sound too much alike, although Ronn does a good job depicting different lives with each character,

@andyrooney11 Because when Jeff was starting out he use to drop dead funny, like some of his bits he was working 4 puppets and taking a drink at the same time, while dropping great one liners that hurt your sides from laughing so hard. now he sucks he really just lost what made him great.
