He runs a comedy show based around left wing biased news. Look for serious debate in non mainstream media left wing news. Despite that he's making fair points and calling out left cancel culture stuff, his show is made for 16-30yos to laugh at the GOP in the same way that Tucker Carlson controls the narrative when dunking in the most extreme libs. It's entertainment on both sides. Fox is mainstream in the same way that a show on comedy central is mainstream. They both have a demographic that they're tailoring ads sales too. Cenk on TYT regularly grills both sides of the aisle. Watch both sides of the convo and remove the cultural lense from your eye and actually digest the info and I think we'll be alright. Great interview on both sides and I think it's because they both removed the lense for 20 minutes

@Michael Green I hate that I have to agree. He seemed unbelievably sensical and mild mannered when he first came to congress, his response to Pete Davidson was one of the classiest things I’ve ever seen (although in hindsight I do hope he wasn’t just overblowing the whole thing for political purposes). But since the political mess that was 2020 he just seemed like he devolved more and more into the swamp of “hurr the other side is maliciously destroying the country” that consumes modern politics, especially when he was talking to his base. You can’t be a class act in front of your opponents and then turn around and drag them through the mud to score political points when they don’t have a chance to respond (although tbh Trevor Noah can be guilty of this too), and while tbh I think Rep. Crenshaw would truly prefer to be a part of a better way of doing politics, he’s too concerned with his political future to reject his party’s worse impulses, which only pushes America closer to the brink, regardless of how nice he is in conversations like this.

Even if his views never develop into at least more moderate ones, I think his approach is refreshingly detached from the mudslinging I've seen in the past.

Most the of the jokes are set up or paid off by quotes or statements made by real people, showing how ridiculous their statements are. It takes a smart person to do that, and brighter people than news casters to write and put text through a comedic process to make it effective. In its nature, some people won’t find satire funny, it’s rooted in taking a side, but what most people won’t understand is that it’s also rooted in opportunities. If one side is giving a comedian pure gold, who are they not to use it as material. I’m pretty sure large statements like “Noah is barely a comedian, let alone knowledgeable about politics and history,” lack nuance, especially in the context of a video like this where there is nuance galore, but also doesn’t give him credit for what his actually is. A comedian. Sadly, a comedian that interviewed a politician better than most reporters on any side can. Comedy Central shouldn’t be a place trusted for news or information, and the fact that a satirical show like the Daily Show exists, speaks to the history and failures of the USA’s education system and our broadcast news channels.

Let's hope we see more of things like this in hopes of stopping all of the division and hatred headed our way. We can become better in shaping the ideals of what " An American" really is. Great job Daily Show!

We NEEEED more interviews like this. And please make them longer so there is time to dissect and go into detail. Im a huge fan of both of you, but never would have imagined that you would sit down in a room together and talk (b/c of optics). This makes the country stronger!!

Thats because his shows narrative changes when hes just shouting into an echo chamber, hammering one political party, appeasing his core audience. When he gets an actual elected member from the republican party, he changes his tone real fast. Id watch this show. The current incarnation of the show is trash.

This is great! Long form conversation is going to become the standard for trusted media. We've seen the uptick in podcasts for a reason. This format bridges the gap in media. No laugh track, audience, or edits and limited speaking time. Our media is broken and this is the way forward.

Exxon is not the best person to rely on when it comes to climate change decisions. Actually they're the last person you want to leave that decision to

    • @lucasa4442

Exxon has a vast knowledge of fracking and is innovating to make fracking more efficient for the environment. Until more innovation in technology, natural gas is needed to run our economy. So to an extent, we SHOULD rely on them, but not for Climate Change “decisions”. However we should rely on them to make progression in declining CO2 emissions. Trevor even said, the switch doesn’t happen over night. It is very possible to end carbon emissions without destroying the economy, but that only happens with years and years of innovation. Y’all may think that emissions are down under Biden because the admin has cut down on fracking and construction of pipelines, but the reality is that we are using the same amount of oil but purchasing it from the Middle East where it is basically unregulated all together. Fracking in the U.S. is regulated more, creating less world pollution. Would you rather the world buy our oil, that was extracted with more regulations that create less pollution, or have everyone buying it from the Middle East who has no problem at all with polluting the earth?

I'm not a huge fan of DC, although I'm not personally opposed to many of his views, but Trevor's interview style and intelligence really shines through in interviews like this.
