@agh it's a plane which is a shame because i love using Sceptile and since its mega is 4X weak to Ice makes me afraid to use it since ice type attacks are very common with ice punch, ice beam and blizzard

It has always eluded me why Sceptile has lightning rod when it has a 4x resistance to electric
To be fair, Lucario and Coballion have Justifed and they have 4x resistance to Dark

For the pokedex his tail is a lighting rod, but for the gameplay make no sense
Has a use for double battles i think; does it boost his special attack? If so, that's useful
Useful in doubles. Take something like pelliper, 4× weak to lightning, and sceptile will draw it all in
I hate how sceptile has high special attack and not that high physical when it's physical movepool is clearly better. It's still my favorite grass type though.
Aura sphere would be good on it
It really is the most confusing stat growth well unless you get the means to legitimately make sure physical attack gets EV priority from level 1.

I’d run a leaf blade, crunch, thunder punch, dragon claw set
Pairing M-Sceptile with Discharging electrode with taunt/screens was how I got my stamp for the battle tree doubles
My first ever game and starter was sapphire, so this boy will always be special to me. I'd love to see him in smash one day too!

Anyone else completely not expect Sceptile being able to learn dragon type moves in ruby, sapphire, and emerald? They gave us a ding dang clue to mega evolution and we did nothing.
This is why I will miss mega shinka. Sceptile by far is my FAVORITE grass starter and I DESPISED grass types due to their many weaknesses. His design is lethal and that dragon typing fits him perfectly. Just wish Gen2 and Gen4 had a chance for megas before removing them. 😭

Water Shuriken wrecks Mega Sceptile in the anime
Because the anime is full of shit XD. Greninja takes a leaf storm from mega sceptile in the anime, when it has the bulk of a wet tissue paper. And mega sceptile faints to ONE water shuriken which it 4x resists smh.
Well the anime works a bit differently than the games, so don't expect things to work stat wise there too because some pokemon take hits far better than they would in the games likely. But yeah while type advantages matter, they don't guaranteed a win
But yes, sometimes the anime does some stuff that makes no sense like thunder armor...and being hit by water somehow removes your ground typing.
useless information: i just calculated it, max HP Spdef Ash-Greninja with Assault Vest can take 1 Leaf Storm from mega Sceptile xd
@@40mihirkulkarni44 lol do you even know anything about pokemon? Leaf storm and frenzy plant both are special attacking moves. Leaf storm is 130 base damaging special move X 1.5 STAB X 2 super effective, so that's a damage of 390 on greninja. Aerial ace is a pathetic 60 base power move which goes upto 120 because of super effective damage and has no STAB. 390 Vs 120. You can do simple math right? Not to mention mega sceptile is a lot faster. If it was an in-game battle it would end in 1 turn before ash-gren can move.

I love how mega sceptile has so many sets he can run, even physical! a 110 base attack is high enough to sweep easily with just one swords dance and some STAB moves, I really like using him alot. Just too bad that anything that could possibly learn a ice move will 9/10 insta kill it, if it's faster or survives. But then again, you got 5 other mons to cover sceptile for that so it's really not that bad. Really nice video Viz, loved the game play.
