Hollow Crown (Start of War of the Roses)
White Queen (End of War of the Roses)
White Princess (start of the Tudor Dynasty)
Tudors (Reign of Henry VIII)
Spanish Princess (Life of Catherine Aragon, Henry VIII’s first wife)
Reign (life of Mary Queen of Scots , whose family , the Stuarts will suceed the Tudors, emphasis on her life in the French Court)
Serpent Queen (life of Catherine de Medici, Mary Queen of Scots mother in law. Queen of France. Mother of the last Valois kings and first queen of the suceeding Bourbon dynasty)
Musketeers (centered of the musketeers serving the Bourbon King Louis XIII, whose mother is also a Medici)

Just finished watching all the seasons of The Great (Especially Season 3) and without sharing spoilers I’ll just say my heart is aching heavy over that last season 😫🥺

My favourite is Edward VII. A 1970s tv series. It tells the story of Queen Victoria's reign and her eldest son's long wait to be king.

I must recommend Victoria as a middle aged women a history major and love of period dramas it was so much better than any clip or preview I had watched in fact I ignored it for a long time you will love I promise. Also the Great it's not historically correct but a dang I wish women of the time were like that giggle fest 😂
I beleive reign deserves a place on this list
I recommend two. First, Versailles, which is about Loius XIV of France. The second is Magnificent Century, which is a Turkish series about the life of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and the rise of his wife, Hurrem Sultana, who is credited with ushering on an era known as the Sultanate of Women.

Pillar of the earth is a good historical tv series the theme of female successio at that time was not acceptable stephen and matlida fought each other for the crown this will be known in history as the age of anarchy.
