    I'm unsure about the other quotes from the second trip, but I do know that the whole "Great holes secretly are digged where earth's pores ought to suffice, and things have learnt to walk that ought to crawl," is directly from "The Festival" from H.P. Lovecraft, and a few of those others sound very Lovecraftian, so I'd definitely check to see if the rest aren't excerpts as well! (I have a migraine building and don't want to tempt fate by staring at my screen for too long, haha)

    A couple pronunciation things, nothing major just thought I should mention them (these are only from my understanding of German though and I’m not a native speaker):
    Gestade = geshtaahd
    Eugen = oygin

    When it's condensed like this, it sounds a lot like HP Lovecrafts The Colour Out of Space.
    A possibly ancient meteor touched down and it's described as being from a place completely different from humans. It's only perceived motivation is to feed. It causes psychosis, feeds upon the land and everything on it, and is associated with the moon and water.
    The alien hides in the well and absorbs/poisons everything through the soil. The children fall into the well and their bones are found floating in it. The police try draining the well, but are only able to remove the water. Below the water is a seemingly endless flesh mud mush made of the alien. It's the alien because the alien pointedly crawls out afterwards and is stated to have lived in the well.
    The well is possibly framed as an entrance to death. It and the fleshy quality could reference the holes in the ground and the flesh invasion in game.
    The flesh invasion and psychosis could be explained with how the alien functions. It feeds upon the mind and soul until the person is just screaming, hallucinating, and prone to attacking anyone.
    When the alien feeds, it grows and creates separate mounds of flesh bodies. After this, humans either disintegrate or become monstrous.
    The flesh representing Ariane's cancer could work with the alien because both only seem to function to devour.
    The alien could be comparable to the King In Yellow as both are seemingly nonhuman and not able to be understood. Both entities just function without care to the surroundings.
    And the insanity could be comparable to the process of the madness. Both book and in game seem to start with sickness, then full on madness, and then a possible transformation. The book version is just slower.
