I think some perspective is in order. The Lakers have their flaws. They really need a defensive center 7 footer on their roster to help with the matchup, but the series was much closer than a 5 game series normally is. If Murray had not hit that game 2 buzzer beater, the Lakers are only down 2-3. That game could have gone either way. If Murray misses the go-ahead shot last night, the game goes to OT and it goes either way. The Lakers could be up 3-2 if it weren't for two great clutch shots by Murray.
So if the Lakers were up 3-2, would everyone be talking about how the Lakers as we know it are over? Of course not. This series was close fought and winnable by either team. I do think the Nuggets were the deserving favorites, but they didn't embarrass the Lakers. The Lakers were beaten, but not dominated. Had these Lakers gotten past the Nuggets, I can see them making the NBA Finals.
