Reminds me too much of Aria of Sorrow to call it "new" personally. Feels like a greatest hits mash-up of stuff Legion does, minus a core of some sort with tentacle lasers.

Well, he's in the last third of the game. There's still a couple progression items and 3 bosses left. So probably about 4 episodes left with backtracking for secrets, though maybe 3 since he usually makes the finale a longer video.
These episodes should be longer. They seem to always stop when it gets really good.
That Mirror Bossfight wasn't even close. Pleeeenty of health left.

This game is far better than most official Metroid-style Castlevania games.
The flame dash effect was glitching, it only has a short amount of time that it's actually burning, and should then show it ending. I didn't have most of these graphical issues in my playthrough, very strange.
Weird thing is he didn't have any of the glitches in the first couple of episodes.
I wonder what he did in the week of not playing.
@@riemaennchen I believe this is a recording of his stream, not a local recording of his gameplay (I don't think he ever does local recordings of his gameplay to upload to CZcams anymore). The FPS of his stream is not consistent so visual effects relying on a certain constant FPS (60 in this case) won't look quite right in the video.
I believe Jerd is just blind as a bat. Any sane person would've started doing some tests as soon as they noticed the inconsistency in it damaging things/breaking candles.

As a little kid, the âBoomerangâ was a funny one for me. My mom told me it was supposed to be a Cross, since the main villain (which I hadnât encountered yet) was a vampire, so in a moment of clarity, kid me merged the two. It was a boomerang cross because vampires donât like crosses, so a throwing cross that came back to attack with was smart. I went with Cross because I trusted her more, but yeah, team Crossmerang here. :)

The giant moon thing first appeared in SOTN called "Granfaloon" (a group of people who share a meaningless identity, a term from Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut). It was later renamed "legion" and has been a reoccurring boss ever since.
It's basically a giant floating mass of semi lifeless humanoid bodies.
That Flame Dash looks as effective as literally running into enemy robots as Sonic.
It's mainly for weak enemies and projectiles. When it comes to Death and Dracula, who both have a lot of projectile spam, it's a lifesaver.
A tip with the Dash stone, there is one section of powerup, you'll know where it is when you see it, you will need to do back and forth motions with it avoiding flying skeletons.
With the Flame Dash all you have to do is keep repeatedly starting the dash to keep the flame active and it shouldn't be an issue.
I'm imagining the Simon Belmont from Captain N: The Game Master having that dash and just sliding into frame like, "This looks like a job for Simon Belmont!" and just using it for no reason to like check the mail.

Okay Iâm officially hooked on this series.
Paradoxically, dashing and sliding are slow because they are at walking speed but make you crawl to a stop when they're done. Also a shame that the flame ash is only on startup of the dash...but it can be started infinitely if you're patient about it for a fire shield

Just finished this game with 100% - really enjoyable 5 hours.
I fucking LOVE the music in the Toy section. Easily my favourite in the game. I cheesed most of the game with the Holy Bible subweapon which is super cheap for basically a protect all shield you can use constantly. And it is THE weapon to use for the final boss anything else is really hard. The ice whip also does double damage. There is a demon boss coming up though after you get the thunder whip that I STRONGLY recommend using the powered up Laurels for (get the card for the laurels) as he does WAY too much damage and it's almost impossible to survive without it. Also use the card that enables hearts to drop from whip strikes and to heal HP with whips.

Flame dash is only lasts like two seconds. Itâs a bug they need to fix. If you look closely you can see when it dims meaning no more damage output.

I feel like the only way they could've made the flame dash not be completely overpowered is by instead making it complete garbage. It just comes off as the kind of power-up where there's no in between.

Flame Dash is not working as you think. When you first start to dash the aura around the character is more intense and can inflict damage. However after a short way it will get less intense and will stop causing damage and then you are vulnerable.
Honestly the zappy whip and the whip heal card feels busted since it triggers even if you whip air from what I've seen so you can just stand somewhere and regain health for free
The whip heal card only works if you whip something. I should know, I've been using it throughout my whole playthrough so far. đȘ±đ

The meteor dash is only temporary. It protects you for the first one or two seconds of the dash, but then the flames fade and you'll take damage like normal.
Edit: nevermind, didn't know Jared figured it out, I commented closer to the beginning of the video.

That's no moon, it's just a whole bunch of bodies smooshed together into a ball.
That was no "moon", it was a giant ball or corpses, a boss you would have fought in Symphony of the Night.

The damage of flame dash is only in the beginning second or 2 of the dash.

I think Flame Dash only works for like 2 seconds, as can be seen by the visual effect lessening over time.
There is a timing, if you constantly press the button at the right moment, then you can fly with fire endlessly

The hitbox on that dash seems wildly inconsistent. Wonder if that's intentional or if the devs just couldn't nail it down.
It's only the start. Something's weird with Jared's copy, the animation normally reflects it.
you need to get the heavy boots they dont sound interesting but you don't get stunned when hit makes a huge difference

@@ProJaredPlays it atleast helps with traversing and collecting I 100 percented this (while I was waiting for more of your videos) and the back and forth and some of the platforming gets rough with the dash double jump and enemies. ALSO the healing whips works better with the fire whip and holding it.

I found the Dash Card pretty useless, it does low damage and the hitbox feels smaller than your character so half the time you still get hit.
Eh. Out of all the whips so far, the electric one seems the least useful. Fire is probably the best.
The flame dash upgrade is probaly the most ass one tbh
and he decided to buy that instead of the boots.
Meteor Dash or Heavy Boots (or both for good measure) is basically required to get a particularly annoying max up, and if you keep decent rhythm on retriggering the dash the flame shield will protect you from the enemies that count, like Medusa Heads and Winged Guards.
