    I have bought all Michael Connelly's books and have read them all quite a number of times. He is my favourite author and I am a big reader, read every day. I always buy his next novel as soon as I can, often six months before it is published. Thank you Michael Connelly!!!!!

    Wow. Reminds me of something a writer said once: "The bigger the issue, the smaller you write. You don't write about the horrors of war. You write about a kid's burnt socks on the road"

    I have read all Connelly's books. Every one of them is an outstanding read. He's a nice guy (I've met him twice at book signings) and his series "BOSCH" is also spectacular.

    Connelly's talent has only grown through the decades. His brand now extends to two TV series, a couple of films, and online connection to his readers. He's one of the few authors whose books I can't put down easily.

    Michael Connelly is the best story teller in the world. I admire him for his writing skills and I love all of his books. I'm looking forward to his new Lincoln Lawyer book coming out on 11/07/2023. 😅

    Mr. Connelly is my absolute favorite writer when I want a page-turner. It is all the more enjoyable because I live in Southern California and have seen many of the locations in his books. The tv shows are just an added bonus, especially the casting of Matthew McConaughy as the original Lincoln Lawyer (movie) and Titus Welliver as Bosche. Thank you Mr. Connelly!

    Michael Connelly, James Patterson, Stephen King, Clive Cussler, David Baldaci, Dale Brown, Dan Brown, Mathew Quirk, and Thomas Harris are among the best crime, detective, and thriller authors.

    I'm just wondering what Harry Bosch's equivalent of Sgt. Hurt's glasses is... I mean he's definitely someone who cares about his cases and victims but I never really saw anything quite like that in The Black Echo. Possibly the late nights in his chair, or his pad overlooking LA. I mean this was really interesting, for sure. What he needed to figure out as an author was how to create deeply complex characters that the reader would care about. A good lesson for all aspiring authors.

      I think Bosch's equivalent of Sgt. Hurt's glasses is his often repeated mantra "Everybody matters or nobody matters".

    Can I read just one Bosch novel as a standalone or do I have to read all in a row to understand it?

    • @markdupont
      @markdupont Před 2 lety +4

      It doesn't matter, although they do follow along. Just pick one up and start... you won't put it down, and you'll run to get another one.

      You can read as a stand-alone for sure but it becomes truly magical when read in order. I feel like Bosch is a part of me or a member of my family.

    Michael has done little else other than to succeed at replicating all the literary and dramatic crimes of the bad practices, of other crime writers, past and present :-)
